I just moved to the senior year of school and decided to level up from hijab to niqab. Seems like a good decision but I'm pretty nervous.

Maybe you can start with a face mask sis. It will become normal to you and others seeing your face covered and then you can wear small niqab. Gradually to longer ones. It will seem like a fashion change and you will feel comfortable during the change.:)

having been raised in a European country with Christian values I have always been skeptical of face-covering in Islam. public misconception (albeit true in some areas) is that most women are *forced* to wear a hijab; seeing you say your niqab has you "more comfortable and confident" makes me realize it's not always like that and in retrospect I deeply understand how veiling your face can make you feel more comfortable... I am happy to read that you wear the hijab out of devotion and your ideal of happiness, not because you are "forced to" as we've been led to believe always happens. God bless all of my Muslim brothers and sisters. we are all the same under God. wish you all the best and happiness

I understand how it feels when you were in Germany as a Muslim girl . It’s though but you always find a way out and when your in a Muslim country. It’s a totally different feeling . I’m am from America and I know it feels . When I go to a Muslim country I feel at peace and my Imam is building up. I’ve been wearing my hijab ever since I was 5 because I wanted to look like my mom. I grew up with it alhamdulillah, but in a really islamophobic environment where I was the only Muslim around. It was an incredibly tough journey with no support whatsoever and still to this day I get attacked for being Muslim. It’s heartwarming to hear that other Muslims in the west have it better, makes me want to move even more.
