She was just as beautiful as a person before, but the colors of her dresses did NOT do her justice😭 The new colors looks amazing on her and really brings out her beautiful features whooop

@@meximoan yes and no. the character has been around since season one but she was always left out and never had any lines or screen time - the actress however got recasted (used to be ruby stokes and is now hannah dodd) and i believe they'll give her more protagonism now that there's a new actress for the role

the colin being a flirt gave me such an ick but later we realize it is supposed to be icky coz hes faking it and pen sees right thru it and calls him out in LW, and we are seeing it from her POV, hence the ick. luke newton wht an actor he is, rewatching it made me realize he is so subtle in his micro expressions, its so easily missed and unperformative which makes it all feel so real.

You're right, there are elements of romcom this season, it was written that way. Also, Colin's behavior is supposed to feel off, that's why it does feel off. He did travel, and he learned how to be charming and talk to people, and now he applies everything he learned here because he thinks that'll help him fit in. You know, he sees all the other lords, the way they talk to women and flirt with them, the way they talk to each other, and he thinks if he does it too, he'll be one of them. That's not how he truly is, so it does feel off-putting. I love Colin's journey throughout the start of the season, it's so amazing. Can't wait for part two.

Yeah and that’s exactly what “lady whistledown” said… it’s like he has a new personality just so he can “fit in” almost, and be liked by everyone

I love that Francesca and Penelope both have an inclination to be a wallflower type. Francesca because she doesn’t WANT the attention, Penelope because of her lack of confidence in herself. I’d love to see more scenes with them as friends.

Fun fact- in the first 2 seasons Colin and Gregory were styled the same in order to frame Colin as still quite young and naive.

This. Fake dating was season 1's trope. Each book/season deals with a different CLASSIC romance trope.

Interesting fact: in the scene when Eloise is chastising Cressida in the garden, Eloise is using that hand warmer (called a muff) because Claudia Jessie broke her wrist before filming and they had to find a way to hide her cast …

The reason that there's not much Anthony and Kate in the first half of t he show is that Jonathan Bailey was doing 'Fellow Travelers' in Toronto and he was flying back and forth from Toronto after shooting for a week, then he'd fly to London, do more on Bridgerton and back and forth. He was also learning choreograpy for 'Wicked', which comes out in November. And he just signed for a Jurasic Park movie shooting this October. He's becoming very busy thanks to Bridgerton.

No, he really did go to all those places. He does talk about his experiences, but he doesn’t go into detail when he talks to people it’s when he writes in his journal that he goes into detail of his experiences on his travels. That is part of the storyline is that he’s an amazing writer but he doesn’t let people read it because he doesn’t think he’s an amazing writer.

He was teased for going on and on about his travels last season. So he’s not talking about it this time because he’s trying to be what society and his brothers and friends want him to be. He can’t be his true self because he gets made fun of for it.

One of my favourite little things from this season thus far is how Pen goes from citrus colours (yellow mostly) to wearing more and more blue, which is like the signature colour of the Bridgerton girls. And her green dress at the ball this episode? what colour do you get when you mix blue and yellow? Its her starting to move towards those blue colours

Another bridgerton season let’s goo I forget how much I love this show when it’s back I’m ready for all the mess and drama lol

Claudia Jessie was on a late night talk show and mentioned she broke her wrist on set; and the costume people made that "summer muff" to cover the cast. Apparently there were no casts at that time

I love that you guys were talking about rom-com situations were a deal is made between two people pretending to be in a relationship... and didn't think to mention season 1 of Bridgerton when that's exactly what Daphne and Simon did 😂

Fun Fact: the song when Pen debuts her new look is abcdefu by Gayle I also think we have to remember that Penelope sees Lady Whistledown as a completely different entity of herself. She compartmentalizes that portion of herself. When she started writing under Lady Whistledown it was 2 years ago, her family were horrible to her, she was a wallflower when no one in society really payed her any attention except for her friends Eloise and Colin. As season 2 progressed, she gained confidence and let's face it arrogance in regards to her writings, because she had all of the Ton and Queen eating out alf the palm of her hand. In the end this is a big issue that will come to head this season so I'm interested to see how the writers handle it because some of the situations leading up to season 3 don't exist in the books and thus how certain people react should and probably will be different. I predict that at the end of Season 3 Lady Whisltedown will no longer exist. While it's a great plot point for the show, I just don't see how they are going to have Penelope and Colin happily married, with Penelope continuing to write as Lady Whistle down. First Colin hates it; then how can she be objected about herself and husband and extended family, and now it seems she's really antagonizing the Queen.

Yeah, I agree. Their scenes + Francesca with John were my fave parts of part 1. Hope we get more of them in part 2 but I have a feeling they're getting written off:/

I hate the trope in shows when a character hear another character say something, without the context or the rest of the discussion. And that's exactly what happened with Colin. What he said about not courting Pen is bad ONLY if that's all he said. But we don't know it is, because Pen leaves after hearing that. While Colin seems to be talking more. So he may have added stuff like : because she's my best friend. Or something like that, which is valid and not wrong at all. Especially with Pen being not only his best friend, but also his sister's. Also, Colin NEVER acted like he was embarrassed for them to assume that. I mean, he danced with Pen several times, making sure to defend her to Cressida and others and invite her instead of others... He's not the kind of people to mock someone for his benefit, especially not Pen. I think she just heard the bad part, and didn't stay for the explanation, assuming he said something awful.

Erm, no. That is the full context. And it is bad. The implication was denigrating Penelopy as potential prospect for anyone, not just Colin specifically. There is no mitigating that statement, and we heard it in full context.

Uuuuuh I can't wait for these reactions. Binged these episodes yesterday. Pen and Colin are THE couple for me just because their story has always been there in the background. Been rooting for them since day one and it's refreshing to have a couple that have known each other for so long already and it's not this "cute man/woman appears at the start of the season and here comes drama" although I loved that as well lol I just hope to see more of the main couple in part 2, that's my only complaint. Too much time for side plots, not enough for the main couple.

Honestly, I think it's a good thing that Kate and Anthony get out of the way. For those who love them, that would just steal focus away from the main story. And for those who didn't like them, it would just be annoying. That's one of the nice things about each season focusing on a different pair. If anyone doesn't like a given pairing, it doesn't ruin the whole show for them. They just have to wait for the next season and it will move on.

Yeah all of the Bridgerton boys are meant to look a LOT like each other. In the books, it's mentioned a couple of times that people find it difficult to tell them apart at times so they're all kind of supposed to look like copy pastes of eachother a little bit.... And people in season 1 genuinely did struggle to tell them apart at times! Here on KZread and the people in my real life who have watched the show...So... good casting, IMO!

S3 is such a treat for Kanthony fans which is a lot of us. But i think S3 will surprise you
