Actually 2012 ke bad jaise Mumbai section ko 25 kV kiya gaya, is locomotive ka dono end ac traction ke liye banaya gaya aur iska use itarsi nagpur aur Ahmedabad tak kiya jata hai. Ahmedabad tak wo pehle se hi jati thi.. ye note kijiye

This locomotive can be seen on Mumbai Nagpur route... They have converted this locomotive to fully AC... You can see this locomotive in Igatpuri, Bhusawal, and mostly in Nagpur. Can be seen in pune also.. This locomotive runs mostly on CR line.

I think it is still restricted to the CR zone, compared to the nationwide trips made by locos such as WAP 7 or WAP 4. You could see an LGD WAP 7 all the way North in NDLS station.

Maine ek baar WCAM 3 locomotive ko Gujrat me bhi dekha hai. Yeh maine Gujrat ke Umbargam Road Railway station me dekha tha jo Gujrat aur Maharashtra ke border ke bilkul pass hai. Agar aapne Mumbai-Ahmedabad route par travel kiya hai toh aapko samaj me aa gaya hoga

Amit Bhai thoda correction! 50% aapne sahi information Diya hai! 1. WCAG1 locomotive has been officially renamed to WAG-7M. 2. All the WCAM and WCAG1 locos have been converted to full AC traction after mumbai region was converted into complete AC traction! Which means that both the pantos are now AC enabled! 3. The main reason these locos don't venture out too much is because of the crew training of these locos apart from the point u mentioned of maintenance at other trip shed locos

First time I came to know that there is a mixed type locomotive also. Many many thanks for this information. But, reply raised another question. Keeping two pentographs at both ends can provide stand-by arrangements. Space at top of locomotive is available.

I have seen it pune as well.

I want to humbly add a correction. The pantographs had an alternate mode for emergency operations. In case of damage to the AC pantograph, the DC Pantograph could be raised as an emergency measure to temporarily run the WCAM loco. However, such operation will not give max current collection, and it would be only for an emergency, meaning a loco change is still necessary at the next station. Also, such isolated circuits are finicky to repair at traditional locosheds, so they are not repaired at any random locoshed, and worked on only in CR locosheds.

All WCAM series locomotives are converted to AC traction after mumbai lines are converted to AC. And many trains runs with WCAM3. Also this locomotive available at nagpur station and she'd.

Actually is locomotive ka jankari aur training kewal c rly. & w rly ke locopilot maintenance staff ko hi hits hai. So agar locomotive me kabhi trouble hoga to dusra koyi use thik nahi KAR payange. Mein ek locopilot hoon aur mein WCAM1 locomotive par kaam KAR chuka hoon.
