Ah, Sunday morning TV in Chicago. I’m Catholic and was clueless as a kid that this was a Jewish show. I do believe after Magic Door, we were treated to the Cisco Kid and the Lone Ranger.

Not on WBBM, Cisco and Ranger were WGN
I used to watch this every Sunday morning! It brings back the memories, that's for sure!!!!
The shot of the Acorn House. and the Arum Zum zum song brings back memories. Thanks!

For some reason that song was playing in my head and brought me here. I remember watching this as a wee lad in Chicago back in the 60’s
I remember A RoomZoomZoom all these many decades later! It was a righteous bop then and it still, as the kids say, slaps.
Thank you so much for posting this! I was beginning to think I had made up the song that I STILL hear playing in my head occasionally!

beethoven made it up -- it's one of the most famous passages in classical music -- also used wonderfully in Melville's Army of Shadows
Omg!!!! I was a tiny little girl. I remember this ❣️
My mom hosted an episode in 1964-65(?). She took photos off the tv when it was broadcast. She just died last year and I have yet to go thru her photos. I once contacted the Jewish Federation of Chicago and they said they had some old tapes that needed cataloguing. Maybe I'll find some someday.

Wow I been trying to find this but couldn’t remember the name Way back memories Thanks 👍🙏
im still singing that song
Wow! A look back on a very old show to a time twenty-five years still earlier! Amazing since what is presented here appears to be about all that is left of any of it, anywhere!

I'm wondering if the Museum of Broadcast Communications (here in Chicago) might have more in their archives. It's pretty extensive...
So sweet!
thanks

I am glad you mentioned that! From 28 seconds onward, that's my high school friend and first (private) crush, Margie Stark, and her dummy, Kuni Lemel. I found this some years ago knowing Margie had appeared on TV while in High School--i wasn't sure whether that we still her a few seconds later after she and the dummy and the two adults exited through the trellis. Margie passed away some years ago, TOO YOUNG! I later found out from a mutual friend who also had a crush on her. SO---did you know Margie, or did your mother Eunice Joffe?
Awesome (:
Was really hoping to see Boobie Beaver in this clip somewhere. I miss ol' Boobie.
what year is this?

1962---the show only started in '62---Margie sat next to me in study hall at Highland Park High, and was my first crush. She graduated in '63. Her puppets name was Kuni Lemel. (It's Margie with the dummy from :22 to :44 on this tape.)
