"Regular" is technically both NCT-127's song and WayV's song, because the lyrics are not the same. They are really three separate songs. The song wasn't just translated from English into Korean and Mandarin. If you look up the English translation of the lyrics and compare the English, Korean and Mandarin versions, you will see that the lyrics are talking about different things. Which makes them different songs. (WayV didn't just barrow a song from NCT-127 and translate it into Mandarin. Yes, the song uses the same title and beat -- and even a few of the same words and lines -- as NCT-127's Korean and English versions of the song, but they aren't really the same song.) WayV's version sounds different, not only because it's different members and a different language, but it has a different message as well. And that is why the choreography is also different in the other versions. If you look up the lyrics for the Korean version you will discover that the lyrics for the English version of "Regular" is almost opposite of what they are talking about in the Korean version. That's why the album is called Regular Irregular. The English version is what I would describe as the cocky version of the song and it hits on the aesthetic of what appeals more to an American audience. The English version talks about being famous and having lots of money and still not being satisfied until they possess all the riches and fame. However, the Korean version is what I would call the humble version of the song. The Korean lyrics talk about how they are constantly working hard and are never satisfied with the end result and how they hope to have the success that they always dream of, etc. -- which is what appeals more to a Korean audience. The Chinese version of the song also has different lyrics. The MV for WayV's version of "Regular" is about dominating in the technology realm and that is why you see them as stock traders in the stock market and at one point they are literally inside a computer, etc. It's all about dominating in the business world. You should really take the time to see what makes the 3 versions so different. :D It's really interesting to see how 3 songs can be created in 3 different languages using the same beat and feel, and yet have completely different messages. It just goes to show how diverse the music industry is and yet still so similar. :D

I appreciate how you recognize your faves but keep your eye on others, too. As an old(er) fan as well, I keep coming back to watch your reactions due this level of maturity. It’s difficult to that find in critiques of this genre. Also I’m glad you said you may forget Ten can sing like that because his dancing is so top tier. He’s amazing and so versatile. This happens with top dancers, but also happens with great vocalist- people forget they can dance until they catch them throwing down and gobbling up the coreo.

I appreciate that! I definitely had a goal to make sure I tried to be as “bias-free” when I reacted to kpop bc I think the bias system is great and creative but sometimes it can cause talented members to be left out! And yes I literally am reminded every reaction then ten is damn near main vocal material

Regular was originally made for WayV but their debut was pushed back so NCT 127 released it first and so it's technically their song. And Xiaojun was always amazing but seeing his earlier work like this makes you realize how much better he is now. The growth!

I miss WayV so much 'After Midnight' is officially become my favorite anthem now and I'm so glad they're working with Dem Jointz now as we speak. Looking forward for their comeback soon. btw I love Take Off dance practice, all the movements are related to flying, fascinating.

I believe it was 127 song 1st, i remember ppl was sayn: "Why Not Give WayV Their Own Song When They Debuted?"...which didn't make sense to me either 🤔 Why not give them their own song? Like they were tryn a test run on them or something! Ten ....always eatn!! That man knws he can dance & sing!! 2nd this!! WinWin needs more lines for sure!! Got my baby out here like a stepchild!! Lol

I think REGULAR was originally for WayV but their debut was delayed and NCT 127 release their versions first. If you would notice the MV title of the three. 127 has the “Korean version” & “English version” on the title while wayv is just “Regular” If you are someone who stan groups who release different versions os a song, you know that the original mostly doesn’t have the word “version” to the title. Idk if that makes sense but nonetheless, I listen to theregular eng ver when i want to vibe, watch the mandarin version bcoz mv is just another level, and listen to mandarin if I just want some good music

xiaojun is amazing and I'm glad you appreciate him, he made his debut later than the older WayV line, but I'm glad he's building a fanbase. It is strange that there is no dancer position, although in hip hop he is one of the best and praised by choreographers.
