Absolutely stunning work. A very thoughtful study of a single color, how it plays so well with additional colors. You are so concise in your study, I find it all so inspiring, thank you for your hard work. ♥️

Thank you, Sandy! This was especially helpful. I love Moonglow, but don't end up using it because I don't understand it. I feel a little more aware after watching this fascinating video, and I can't wait to get started on something with Moonglow.

I love watching how you painted the chimp, how the layers built over time across the painting instead of only in one area. I think I tend to overly focus on one area then have a difficult time with the painting feeling cohesive. And I think I may "abandon ship" a bit early instead of continuing to work through the layers.

I learned early on to create the loosest, lightest wash first, and build from there. The later layers can take their time in chunks, but the first pass holds it all together :)

I love moonglow and loved this video. Thank you so much for expanding my view of this beautiful color. I'm a beginner and sometimes don't realize the potential of what's in my palette. I can't wait to try these techniques. 😍

I think moonglow was one of the first additions (along with neutral tint) I made to my Daniel Smith palette. I have always loved it for shadows and helping with grunge and plays of light - but your Chimp has given new light on just how wonderful it is. I was always wary of using too much because of the fugitive reports - no longer, though. Thank you as always Sandy - a wonderful study.

I can't promise it won't fade in time, I just haven't seen it. But I haven't been painting for 50 years so there's that. :)

Your paintings are so beautiful and I’m loving your drawing class! Do you have any issues with the fugitive nature of Moonglow?

I've heard artists gripe about it - I've not experienced it. I think people just like to diss on Daniel Smith, and, well, whatevs. :)

Your art is amazing! QUESTION: can you please add the fairly new Kuretake Granulating Colors palette to your list of products to review soon? I have watched a couple videos and my brain hurts. I just feel if anyone can make this palette make sense and not feel so much like magical voodoo....it's you! Thanking you in advance.

Your work is beautiful! Does the fugitiveness of the Moonglow present an issue for longevity of color values mixed or by itself. I have some but would like to know before using. I was thinking of mixing with Indigo for tints and shade, like a blackish blue, but I don't want to waste either one, canceling the other out. As you can tell I'm a little green.

I haven’t experienced it but I haven’t been painting 100 years. Just do t display it in sunlight if you’re concerned 😊
