What is truly fascinating about Waylons life is that when he was only 17 years old he was the bass player for Buddy Holly's band , the Crickets , it was 1959 and they were on tour with Ritchie Valens and the Big Bopper and at some point in the winter time after a show somewhere , one of them was very sick and the bus for the band had no heat , Waylon had a seat on the plane with Buddy and Ritchie and the Big Bopper , Waylon gave up his seat on the plane and took the bus and later that night the plane crashed , killing everyone on board. His life was truly cosmic , the movie about it sensationally made it out like there was a fateful coin toss , but there was no coin toss , Waylon gave up his seat out of kindness and survived to live an incredible life .. Waylon makes reference to this event in a song titled "A long time ago"

my name is Waylan, kind of like the original I get in trouble for things I did and things I didnt do, if you do name your baby Waylan dont be suprised if the name puts ideas in other peoples head about your sons attitude and habits before they've got to know him, also growing up and to this day I've never had a nickname,, when your name is Waylan your mother made that choice for you, and it wasnt always cool to be Waylan, specialy around non english speakers buyt being named after someone famous kind of forces you to learn how to be yourself at a fairly early age, I'm happy with my mothers decision and I hope your son will feel the same whatever your choice is.

Still a wild one and a lady despite it not being easy to be one. Thanks Jesus and my parents for a good raising in this society. I’ve never intentionally hurt anyone. Genius lyrics. I’ve taken many a chances in life and got up and sang many times. Everyone on the community knew they could come to her house and get a home cooked meal from scratch anytime of day and that she’d let them hide out or stay there if they needed a place to stay.

Love Waylon Jennings! ❤ Too bad this Track promises 1 hour and 38 minutes, but there's no sound after about 49 minutes. 🤔

My TN granny chewed Prince Albert snuff and Rednan tobacco and let people smoke in her house and cooked with lard and lived to be 96 by the grace of God.

I have ancestors who did exactly the same the same. I think the difference is they lived all natural without the chemicals and such. It's these processed fats and such I think does our body damage along with all the cancer causing chemicals. Plus the older generations just flat out worked harder and got exercise that way. Just too many examples of people living to ripe old ages back then.

She'd have lived longer if she didn't do those stupid things and probably would have felt better in her old age. You don't have to do snuff or smoke to live a great country life. Those are dumb things to do, but I ain't judging her 'cause she probably did a lot of smart things too. We all do dumb things. Just don't try to make dumb things seem smart. They aren't.

As much as I love Willie I think Waylon is my fave. Since I can't share a beer and good convo with both now that Waylon's left us if I had a bucket list the #1 item would be to smoke a doobie (or two) with Willie.

Waymore's Blues has a trance like quality that gets my energy up, but it's way too short, imo. I want to turn it into a techno-jam that goes in and out of acoustic and electronic with extended improvisations.
