Actually, in person, Gord is an utter self-absorbed jerk who would make Trump run away. I have met him through his ENT specialist many, many times and always have been so disappointed that one so talented is so mean spirited. He wouldn't have cut it in Nashville with an attitude like that. My wife was a backup singer to Dolly Parton on 3 Bluegrass outings and Dolly is the real deal. Good is a jerk.

Amazing how still and intensely the audience is listening. Not many people smiling or even a little sway to the music.

Thank you for posting this. A beautiful song that gives great comfort to me. Love how they all sound together live.

Having being in attendance at this event, seated in the front row, the flashbacks transport me right back there. It's an incredible feeling. Thank you for posting. Ron Jones.

Finally, a trio version of this great song. It's just like I remember in the riverboat. I've always hated the horn fart at the end of the studio version. All is well... Thank you

Actually it's just the opposite. I was there. The music had us mesmerized. We were all 20 somethings. Drugs were rare in Toronto then. We all knew the music because we were hooked from listening to it on the radio.

My wife, a renowned Bluegrass musician, heard this and slammed the bass player for both being out of pocket and overly busy. She loved the song and actually, on her last album (which was her third BG Grammy nom) she recorded a Gord song. Her album was a collection of Canadian-penned songs interpreted by top Nashville session players and my wife's band. All the Canadian artists except Gord made a point of praising the recording.

I don’t carehow good a musician is, at one time he/she could not play a note. Critizing another isn’t cool.

Did your wife ever consider that maybe that's the way Gordon wanted him to play? Just because she didn't like it doesn't make it wrong. That makes her criticism is nothing more than a cheap shot.

@@gildone84 "Cheap shot", or just the opinion of Dolly Parton's backup singer on 3 albums, and a 3 time Grammy-nom in her own right. You're correct. Anything can be seen as a cheap shot. But some folks have depth and their observations might be worth more than some offended non-musician on this forum. Just sayin.
