Wavy Caps, Psilocybe cyanescens | UK Magic Mushrooms

Where to find and how to identify Psilocybe cyanescens, commonly called Wavy Caps and Blue Leg Brownies. Feat; identification features, habitat, history, spore slurry cultivation.
As this fungi contains psilocybin and psilocin, wavey caps are a hallucinogenic, psychedelic and entheogen, so are an illegal species in Britain. Video is for informational and educational purposes.

Hey! I’m from Medway in Kent but lived in Sheffield for about 12 years now. I’ve only ever seen them once down south once but tbh I didn’t frequent allotment sites and gardens as much as I do now so it’s definitely the reason rather than being less abundant. Allotment sites, park flower beds, council car park woodchip beds are all best places to look but I’ve only ever found them in allotments and community gardens. Good luck with your search and keep in mind many saprobic mushrooms are super easy to grow if you can come across a spore print 😉🙌🏾🍄

  • @danniinthewild

It would be the same process for growing mushrooms like the wood blewit, so for those I would wait until the woodchip is at least 2/3 white and then place this wood chop in a pile as a second inoculation and then scatter the larger pile into a footfall free zone preferably amongst non crowding plants like ferns, nettle etc the. top with woodchip and keep well watered

🫸🫸🫸*** Disclaimer - Please do not replicate or use any of my experience as a guide if you don't know what you are doing. The amounts of material I consumed would be considered to be a really big amount in normal standards so please do your own research and be sure you have correctly identified each individual specimen you encounter as there are multiple potential lookalikes amongst your prize. 🫠🫠 ***🫷🫷🫷 I've never ever had that experience before so that was my first time having it happen and I have had a good number of sessions since last year. I hear it's rare and is still widely unknown what actually causes it so this comment will just be for reference where perhaps one day someone might be able to find some correlation in regards to WLP and hopefully be able to learn more about what triggers it amongst psychonaughts. Anyway.. 56grams of freshly picked and undried (or roughly 5.6grams dry weight). I had roughly 2 thirds of the mushrooms in a mushroom sauce with a steak and the rest in a lemon tea (Yes, I ate the mushrooms after drinking the tea as well). I also picked out the more younger specimens to use for this meal, for obvious reasons. It would have been about 11pm when I finished everything and approximately 45 minutes after. I remember looking to see the time and the numbers were finally starting to wobble a little. It didn't really go beyond this unfortunately as my tolerance is so high for this... I would have to focus on individual thing for them to start dancing otherwise no more colour visuals either which is a bummer. It would have been about 1:30am. I was sitting in bed at this point when I went to lift my arm and I noticed my ring finger on my right arm was just dead, like the feeling you get when you have massive pins and needles and are struggling to move that limb but minus the actually pins and needles. The more I tried the focus on it and move it, the more and more motor function I would lose out of it. Thought I was going to have a stroke or something so I told my wife and then I went to go stand up and shake it off, immediately I felt weak legs and then I felt my eye lids were kind of droopy too. As I walked to the bathroom to wash my face, with each step I found that I started losing the strength to hold myself up. I never fell or lost balance. The only thing I found to help at all was to completely forget about that limb being dead. Dont move it, don't think about it. Don't even look at it for a couple minutes and it'll go away. But at this point was when I realised what I was experiencing. Wood Lovers Paralysis. Had an interesting night fighting against random limbs deciding not to work all of a sudden. Individual legs, fingers, arms, eyelids, shoulders and hand grip strength. The more you fight it the more strength you lose there, but stop paying attention to it for a little bit and it goes away, it was kind of amusing but not in a fun way. 😅 Was probably about 6am when I fell asleep and when I woke up around 10. I felt fine anyway, all was good until I went to eat something. Suddenly my tongue stopped working. was so weird I couldn't swallow properly so I stopped. Throughout the whole day the sudden loss of movement of certain limbs decreased in activity but it wasn't until the following after noon, when i could say it had finally stopped completely (so about 36 hours after consumption). I collected these that same day after a couple days of good rain from out of some fresher laid woodchip beds with decent amounts of eucalypt leaf litter. I say fresher laid beds because they would have been laid during last season with this season marking approximately one year since they were put in. I should also mention this was the first flush for the season and quite early into it too where very few caps started displaying the iconic wavy overturned caps. From the time of writing this, it's been about six days since I have experienced it and everything seems to normal. Only thing is now I am scared to have the mushrooms out of that patch again. Will I do it again? It's definitely making me reconsider that amount or that method but I have dehydrated the rest of what I got that day and will build up the courage to try once more with dry material. See if that makes a difference at all 🤞🤞 Will try remember to come post my experience then. BTW, the steak and mushroom sauce with wavy cap substitute, don't do it. 🤮 Almost wasted a good steak and mushrooms if I couldn't wash it down with more mushroom flavour out of the mushroom tea 😅 can't say I've had a more terrible combination of ideas in a while. 🤣🤣
