Check out "T-SQUARE - Live "Natural" [1080p Upscale] | [Remastered]" on KZread. That group influenced a lot of 90s video game soundtracks. Wave Race 64 OST is incredible.

I told myself I wouldn’t buy in to the Expansion until this hit. It’s about time Nintendo. Once you master the controls, this game is so great. The music cannot be replicated and represents the best of 90’s nostalgia, for me personally. If only we could get a new entry in the series…. Maybe someday!

Yeah, this game had a very distinctive musical style. I saw it referred to as "Club Med" music, though I'm not sure what that meant. But either way, it's a mixture of relaxed and upbeat. I also especially _loved_ the Options screen song!

Every time I hear Human by the Human League I think of Waverace. It wasn't always that way though. I was walking through the grocery store and the song was playing and I kept thinking to myself, they can't be playing Waverace's soundtrack!? ever since then when I hear that song, I think of Waverace

I am glad they haven't forgot about this franchise. I think it needs to be revived for modern audiences. Plus, the water physics have always been something Nintendo's prideful about.

There is literally an indie game like this made every year

It's honestly been really cool just getting new official trailers for N64 games in 2022. Taking the time to shine the spotlight on older games that may not have always been the most well known on their respective consoles as if they're a big new release every month shows a lot of respect for these titles.

@@firestonehaku TBF, those always just felt like "here are some clips of the new batch." This actually feels like it's being sold: a good selection of tracks and game modes, music unifying the whole thing, the little custom title screen for the release date. It has more effort put into it.

Wave race was a massive title back in the days of n64. It was showing off n64 water mechanic's that could even do waves. The sun reflected off the surface and had God Ray's, almost a first. This was no little title. I remember this being a huge huge release at the time.

Nintendo 64 games were good back in the day and they are even more better today now that Nintendo brings them back 2 decades later Nintendo is unique in their own way it's good that they are bringing back old games to the switch

Finally this classic masterpiece is on the Switch! The water physics were mindblowing at the time and the gameplay is timeless!

Nintendo EPD are too busy making only half-decent open world Zelda games, ports of Wii U games with unnecessary addons, "we'll finish making it after publishing" Animal Crossing games, actually creative games that get abandoned after a year with the IPs never touched again (Splatoon and Pikmin being the exceptions) and heavily monetized mobile games no one asked for to make Wave Race again. Or in other words, Nintendo is too busy Nintendoing to make Wave Racing again.

It's been awhile since I watched the video. I think it was on Did You Know Gaming. Not from quote but, what I got from the video. Waverace wasn't intend to be a continuation of a on going series. Which translates to me, " It's possible for another sequel but, they are too busy focusing on other I.P. so don't count on one happening".

This song hits my nostalgia soooo hard!!

Totaka's soundtrack was god-tier. I remember downloading the intro theme in MIDI format from an AOL file list. Thanks for the memories.

YES! They remembered! One of my most played racing games way back when, and I still listen to the soundtrack to this day. Very underrated!

They took the effort of making the "August 19" font look almost exactly like in the game. Now that's very cool! Hopefully i'll soon feel like playing on my Switch again to play this great gem

When N64 first dropped my dad rented the whole system from blockbuster with only this game. Being able to move around on those waves in 3D completely blew my mind. I literally played until the joystick gave me a blister on my thumb

So glad this has been added. I hope they add Pilot Wings 64 someday.

This is the kind of game that gives you nostalgia even if you have never played it before. Honestly it just sounds and looks like childhood. A true gem.

This was one of my favorites when I had an N64 over 20 years ago.

This is the very first N64 game I've ever laid my eyes on and played. I remember being in shock by the graphics and how "real" the water looked.

Fun fact: A good portion of Owl City’s music was inspired by Wave Race as it was one of his favorite games to play as a kid. Even played a cover of it during his Ocean Eyes tour.

Great game with wave physics that has aged gracefully given the console it’s on. I would love a new game in the series.

Glad this is being added. Such a good game, especially when it comes to the OST. Now I’m waiting on Goldeneye and Diddy Kong Racing.

Diddy Kong Racing will come eventually for sure. Goldeneye...not so sure about that, but we'll see.

By far one of the best racing games. Wave physics can make each course feel different each time you race it.

I loved this game so much as a kid! I've been searching it for years now, but for the life of me, i couldn't recall it's name. Seeing this trailer really made my day. I can't wait for it's release!

The water physics are still excellent looking. A tried and true classic for all new gamers to get their feet wet with.

This game brings back so much happiness from when I was a child. The physics in this game was great, it was challenging, and the opening theme was definitely a banger I still hum to myself. This game will always be up there in my top 10 N64 games.

Can we for a second appreciate the HD rendering of the logo at the end of the trailer. It looks so clean

When I got the Nintendo 64 for Christmas in 96 I got Mario 64 and Wave Race 64 I spent a lot of time playing this game over the years and even loved Blue Storm on GameCube. When I started collecting for the 64 again this was one of the first pick ups I got!! And now I’ll be able to take it on the go! Thanks Nintendo!! 😃

Used to play it alot, doing time trial with a friend trying to beat our records. Good memories.

This was the first 3D game I ever played... It was the first cartridge we put into the N64 on Christmas morning, 1996. The look of the water physics, the exciting gameplay, and the details of the tiny tropical fish swimming all around, all combined with the rockin music score… was absolutely mind blowing. I’m glad to see it’s available on Switch online!

My Older brother had a wave race cartridge proping up his TV stand, one day I removed it and played it for the first time and was hooked ever since (N64 cartridges are sturdy AF)

Just now realizing how good that water looks for an N64 game. Wow, never noticed that as a kid

OMG it's about time. This is the main game I've been waiting for. Nintendo REALLY needs to make a new one.

I'd love to see a new Wave Race game. I'm glad I randomly stumbled upon another Switch game, Riptide GP: Renegade, which is a jet ski game with a sci-fi theme. It feels like a really cool extension of the Wave Race series. It's great to see the original Wave Race coming back. Hopefully, Wave Race: Blue Storm on the Gamecube, which had changing weather conditions, would come later!

actually the original was on Game Boy. 64 made Wave Race popular & iconic, but the first game was a top down racer on the original Game Boy. I do hope Blue Storm comes later alongside other Gamecube classics as well....not to mention finally seeing a new entry. Water physics & graphics have come far since Gamecube's launch, so it's crazy Nintendo haven't showcased their mastery of water with a new Wave Race on Wii U or Switch yet

@@fydiousmckormick yeah but if they finally made a new game in the series, not only would it be even better looking they could add so much to it. Online multiplayer races & trick competitions, a mix of remade classic courses & all new ones, additional modes like pure racing without the buoys, more racers & jetskis... but I also really just want to see Nintendo keep more of their racing IPs alive besides Mario Kart. Wave Race, 1080, Excite and Cruis'n especially. Cruis'n Blast gives me a little hope we might see others revived too...I'd even be happy with remasters from Gamecube & Wii entries ( plus Excitebike 64 on NSO... )

Good lord, the memories came rushing in.

One of my most treasured experiences as a kid. This and Pilotwings 64 MADE the N64 for me. Back then this was $80 and there was no way my parents were ever paying that much for one game, but my cousin had this and every summer I had to play it. This is the definitive feel good, luxurious experience.

in the US games were $60 USD new. Calculating for inflation, $60 in 1996/7 in 2023 dollars is equal to about $120 now. so maybe we're lucky games don't cost $120 these days.

I still have this game in original hardware. Great racing game for the Nintendo 64, no doubt. Surprised Nintendo didn't forget about it.
