I just finished the storymode today, so I had just heard the inklish version. Gotta say, this is a great cover for it as it returned me back to that feeling at the end of it all. It has been a journey, since 2015 to today, but I am glad to be part of this fandom and community.

It’s such a massive missed opportunity to not make inkling/octoling a Conlang Like I get that it’s a super massive amount of work but MAN it would be cool to have something that connects splatoon fans… that and all the lore opportunities. I mean look at dread it has a Chozo conlang and it’s SUPER COOL

Each time I hear this credit sequence, I need to remind myself that this supposed end of the Squid Sisters story arc is not as much the beginning of the end of their involvement, but, the end of the beginning for this beloved series within which they were introduced. This song elicits melancholy for me because the prospect these characters, whose charm contributed to making the original title such an unexpected surprise, may occupy a much more comparatively reduced role in future titles. The community related to this series facilitated meetings with incredible people. I am now privileged to call many of these people from all around the world personal friends. These characters introduced me, as a player, to national and even global collaboration with others through Splatfests, a unique and enjoyable experience I have never had through any other media. The creators' introduction of these characters as hosts for the aforementioned in-game event achieved something I have never seen before. They brought complete strangers together from across nations, and sometimes the entire world, to collaborate toward a united goal for fleeting events lasting a single day. Once the results were reported, the game would revert back to its default state. No evidence remained of their occurrence, with all of the participants resuming their previous activities. My ultimate experience upon recollection was almost as if it had occurred during some vivid dream. This lyrical interpretation leaves an impression that something which made this amazing series so special might be departing. Speaking for myself, if these characters who have become so strongly associated with such pleasant memories are indeed not to appear in future titles, it is only for the same reason the aforementioned Splatests coinciding with their introduction were, and continue to be, so special. In reference to parables regarding the ring engraved with a message to bring hope to the forlorn but despair to the jubilant, this too shall pass.
