The sound reminds me of a nylon string acoustic, similar short sustain and soft attack

Excellent sounds for sure, love it! Question: what kind of strings are you playing here, rounds or flats? (Incidentally, Reuben Cox has helped to popularize rubber bridges on the guitars he makes at his Old Style Guitar Shop, so maybe this is now officially kind of a California thing!) Definitely want to hear more, chords, a fuzz pedal, etc. Thanks!

From the looks of it, they're using flats, which is also what they recommend in the product description on Reverb. I can imagine that flatwound strings put less stress on the rubber.

How do these bridges manage with some vibrato? Do they return to pitch pretty well?

On pivoting bridges like jazzmaster and mustang i would think so as the whole bridge move to the movement of the bar, not the strings sliding on the surface of the saddles

It's definitely an interesting sound, it definitely has its place, not sure if it's my jam though

It seems like you can get 90% of the way to this sound with good palm muting
