Thank you so much It's a very useful and clearly understood
Great Job.. Thank you for your effort...
Hello my Dear, thank you very much for this good explanation video.
the classification of the flow Accumulation isn't clear enough. in inputting the break value for the classification, what should one keep in mind considering the already existing values? Like you said "This value depends on your location and DEM Data". Please, clarify.

This is a question I also had. AFAIU, flow accumulation is minimum the number of pixels or cells from which if flow is accumulated, a stream is formed, or the software recognizes the formation of a stream. In a relatively plain area, a well defined stream will be formed when a flow from a lot of cells accumulate. But in regions where you have greater terrain ruggedness or undulations, such as in high mountains, a small number of cells will accumulate enough flow to form a stream. Now it is from experience that one knows what range of that particular value should be entered to get a well defined and connected network. In the video at 01:19 we can see that at first when the flow accumulation raster was generated, the cell value was very high. So the software will not identify any smaller stream where a lesser number of cells contribute to the flow, but as sooon as it was reduced to 5000, more number of streams were identified. Hope this helps a bit. Please note I am also new to this.. Learned people may correct me if I'm wrong.
Thank you so much, i can do by follow you. great!!
Thank you very much ! specially was show step by step zoom on each step end ,excellent more interesting.

Please, I want to do a surface runoff analysis. Any hint?
Thank you so much for your great video. Flow direction in my Arc GIS 10.1 only show two values max and min as DEM, How can I fix it.
thank you..its very helpful
great video. AS you have mentioned the break values will be different for different dem, can you please specify how to determine the break values?
good video. can you give any idea how can a large river basin like Brahmaputra or Amazon be delineated?
How you consider break value , plz clarify ?
Great video, please can the DEM file used be downloaded? If it can please try to always put them in the description, for me I'd love to download them and practice
Thank for this video! 👍
how do you determine the break value base on location?
Useful 👍
Thanks to the video..btw, how to identify class size during flow accumulation. in this video you specify value = 5000

How to recognize 3 parts or stages of a river basin?
may i ask where do you get the watershed boundary shapefile? my area is in ningbo_china hence I can't get it from USGS website

I needed to create a drainage density map of 1990. What are the way to create such map for Bangladesh?
@GISRSSolution
3 жыл бұрын
First you have to download DEM data of 1990 of Bangladesh. Then prepare drainage map following this video or another video on Stream order. Then you can easily calculate stream density using equation like Stream density = sum of stream length/Area. You can check my Stream order map and stream density calculation tutorial. Hope you can understand easily. Thank you.

@@GISRSSolution How to collect dem data before 2000 (i.e 1999 or before). As we know ASTER or SRTM dem is available after 2000).
Wonderful.... Plzz help me to chose a topic for my PhD. Suggest me a good topic related to hydrology and it should include Remote sensing and GIS PLZZ suggest me. Thank you in anticipation

well, you can consider following topic for your Phd ; 1. Remote sensing and GIS-based hydrological modelling for flood risk analysis of (your country) 2. Identification of Groundwater Potential Zone using Remote Sensing and GIS and AHP Technique 3. Decision support system for watershed runoff assessment 4. GIS Based Management System for Flood Forecast Applications in (your country) 5. Monitoring, assessment and prediction of drought using multi-sensor remote sensing data and GIS Techniques There are many more topic you can select for your hydrological research using GIS and RS. Wish you all the best.
