It's like the Zula I purchased at a yard sale, it was converted to a trap door shot gun. Took it to antique road show a long time ago, THE gun expert said it was one of the nicest conversion he had ever seen on one of these rifles also said no smith marks on it, he said if I took it apart there might be some information on the inside. Never took it apart. Very interesting pistols, I guess back in the day it was just a pistol now some 60 years later it's a mystery of where, who and where have you been will be a never solved mystery. Thanks Evan!

The diminutive flintlock resembles guns produced for the tourist market in Turkey and North Africa in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. They tended to use a mix of old and new parts with rather decent craftsmanship put into the embellishments.

Even the 'mystery' firearms are worthy of your Firearms Friday videos, Evan, as you've demonstrated. Keep up the good work! 👍

Thanks, Noah. I've been busy working on an exhibit for the museum which may open late summer or early fall. It will feature some of the Wyoming firearms that you've seen on Firearms Friday.

Maybe it was for a very special lady. So special it was determined that a lil .36 just wasn't enough protection.

The pistol is just a small single barrel copy of an English styled flintlock. Possibly English made but more likely an American or a European copy made with an English made lock. Every city, county or hamlet had a gunmaker or gunmakers who turned these pistols out marked or unmarked, usually made in pairs but often sold individually. It likely has a twin if it isnt moldering in some rusty lump somewhere. They were made to order or simply for resale. It would be almost impossible to identify it specifically.

That small flintlock pistol is beautiful, Evan! Are there proof marks on it?

I haven't attempted to disassemble it, seems fragile and I know nothing about flintlock pistols. There are no visible marks of any kind. An archeologist down the hall is very gun savvy and thought it might be French.

@@evangreen9430 Yea, I think French is a good guess. It sure was masterfully made, someone put a lot of effort and artistic craftsmanship into that firearm! Thanks Evan.

The Queen Anne is breech loading with a turn off barrel. But the size seems similar, thanks for the reference. The one in the video has to be loaded from the muzzle.
