    7x a day seems like a LOT of watering. I'm in zone 8a and I just got my sprouts after day 7, with only watering 1x a day for 15-20 minutes. I have been checking the ground by hand to ensure it's moist enough and that seems like it's been enough.

    I have seeded my lawn on June 5th. I found impact sprinklers move the soil and seed when the water lands on the soil. I switched to Orbit Voyager II inground sprinklers (via hose and spike; above ground) with Orbit B-hyve timers. I chose these sprinklers because I can defuse the water pattern into small droplets and still throw over 25 feet with two sprinklers on a hose. Impact sprinklers require lots of pressure to cycle back and forth. These Orbit sprinklers don't need high pressure to work well.

    Hi, I have seeded my lawn 30 days ago with Barenbrug Solide mix. Grass is still kinda thin + have few bare patches which looks like they are coming trough. On top of that I am fighting with weeds and I already regretted not waiting for fall. Should I overseed now or should I wait till fall? On one hand I am afraid of more weeds popping out and on other hand I worry about overseed success rate. I have installed irrigation system with Hunter popup sprinklers but its not automated yet so I can't always have soil wet for sure.

  • @GardenLawncareGuy

    You wont get rid in the UK but a good fert program will help to standardise the colour to make it less visible. Then you can pull it 5mins before each mow, rake it to stand up before mowing and lastly verticutting

    Hi, I followed your videos last year and now we are into a new spring I would like to ask how many times a week, and for how long a lawn should be watered. I now work away and am only home at weekends, so, as I have been concerned that I cannot water during weekdays, I have bought an automatic timer, a 50m irrigation hose and 2 sprinklers. I am considering setting the time to water the lawn during the night, and for around 10 minutes for all 7 nights of the week. Do you think this is correct, or do I need to water for less days but longer than 10 minutes?

  • @GardenLawncareGuy

    @GardenLawncareGuy

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hi David when watering it's better to water deeply less often e.g. weekly so the grass develops a better root system that finds water otherwise you will have shallow roots. That being said, in the UK I rarely water the lawn only by exception during periods of no rain and sun

    I 💯 disagree about planting seed with rain 🌧️ in forecast . I planted seeds and it poured for 3 days straight and washed most of my seeds away . It would be better to seed after heavy rain 🌧️ cause ground is soft . I use tool to loosen soil then plant seeds . I just dis this last Saturday and now I seed Blades of grass sprouting up . I hand water 💦 twice a day .
