Thank you Marvin! Trees are like people, they all so different and unique. I thought I would paint another guy on that day, promised myself so many times, that other tree is probably at least 1000yo with unbelievable twists and turns, wide as a car....but the crown of this one cough my eye, with all these play of light and smoke... I couldn't pass it... Oh well next time ☺️
Awesome. I honestly think I would have given up on painting if I hadn't found your channel. Now I'm on the path for sure. Thanks Nina!

Thank you very much Bala! I'm so glad I can be helpful!
Excellent advice and very helpful tips. I have used a grey scale value finder and my camera, but not exactly in this way - looking through it while painting! This will make practice so much more effective and fun. Thank you! ❤

Hello again Nina, I cant wait for your course for beginners :-), meanwhile would be so good if you could somehow order your tutorial videos for a complete beginner oriehtation. As there are beginers and advanced tutorials mixed togueter, is not easy to find out where to start and then folllow in the better possible way and dont get lost with so many videos . maybe numering them (lesson1, lesson 2...) ? Or separate beginners and advanced tutorials?... just some suggestions from a viewer (new to watercolor) perspective of your youtube channel ... love the way you explain really, Thank you!

@@nvfineartstudio7296I really appreciate! That is going to help since you made more than 30 tutorials already, so for beginners is difficult to grasp what should come first to practice. Thank you very much. I will follow the course latter this summer too. I have a 5 year old son and I have resurrect my love for painting playing watercolours with him, but I want to learn to teach him. It is so good to share these moments! Thank you again.

Hi Nina, in Your experience, it is best work with fresh tube paint or dried one is ok too? I see many advocate for fresh juicy paint but saw masters like Joseph using dried paints in workshops. Thank You!

Hi Damien, if you work on a sheet 1/2 size and smaller (and not a night scene or anything super dark) it's absolutely fine to use re-wetted paint from the well. Fresh paint wastes easily, but it's easier to do darker tones with it. I did a full sheet of monochrome last night and I had to squeeze black paint out of the tube 3 times... Besides that there is no reason not to use dry paint.

It's not that value scale practice is boring, it just feels a little like a waste of materials. I struggle just playing around and doing simple exercises on my "good" paper, even though I understand that's the only way to learn how it behaves. :)
@nvfineartstudio7296

Hi Irma, I understand your concern about the paper. I would recommend using smaller size. Also, BaoHong is amazing quality, but very well priced. Wet on wet is a major part of watercolor painting and it's very hard to master on alternative paper. If you get good on "good" paper, then you can adjust to anything pretty much. I've tried cheaper paper, the biggest issue is that it never dries evenly, so hard to predict. Also, as soon as you start doing multiple layers/adjustments wet on wet it starts to loose freshness of the surface/starts peeling. And it's not like you're making a mistake and trying to correct it, no, even painting a shadow in middle value and then adding a few darker details wet on wet, it starts peeling...

@@nvfineartstudio7296 Thank you for your answer! I realise I'm not using enough water, and it's probably because I've been using cheap paper. I am finding that with the good paper, blending, lifting and reactivating; everything is so much easier to do. :)
