I'm happy to have found another watercolor artist on YT who actually knows how to paint-they are few and far between! This is one of my favorite mixes for greens and I want to note that it also works with Burnt Sienna and Quin. Burnt Orange.

Very interesting series. I love the way the Daniel Smith colors blend together.
I love you sharing colour mixing, with this beautiful Quin Sienna, and then seeing you at work teaches me so much. Thank you for this.
I love this series. What a great idea! Choose one color and see how it plays with a few other colors in your palette. Not only swatch the mixes, but paint a picture using the colors. Excellent! I am going to do this in my sketchbook. Thanks!

Having one color- Quin Sienna- creates an underlying harmony in your- as usual- great paintings.

🙏🤩 THANK YOU for this video! I picked up a tube of Quin Sienna on impulse as it was on an overstock sale at my local art shop and it's sat in my palette nearly untouched because I never realized it's versatility. Now I'm super excited to dig into that half pan!! The Ultramarine Blue with a touch of Quin Sienna looks like an exact dupe to Schminke's Liquid Charcoal 'Grape Seed Black' color. Incredible!! Thanks again, so much! I'm excited to see the rest of this series 🙏😁

I have no shortage of earth tones... but this Quin Sienna is gorgeous. It and Phthalo Turquoise (a favorite of mine) are a match made in heaven lol

🧡💚 yes! Love the combo, it is my go to for earthy Browns with low to no granultation and olive/sappy greens
These videos for me are packed with knowledge I find mixing difficult so big thumbs up from me. Love the Quin. I love Daniel smith paints I have many so this is going to be a series I’m going to get a lot of knowledge from. Thank you your work is amazing 😊👩🏻🎨

Dude, Quinacridone sienna is my JAM. 🤤 My absolute favorite shade of orange. I like to mix it with Payne’s Grey for a really nice dark brown. It’s crazy what you can paint with literally just orange and blue, I love using them. Now I have to add that turquoise to my never-ending shopping list. 😅

It's such a pretty combination 🧡🩷
You came up in my feed today and after seeing half of your video I subscribed. I love this color I've never seen it before but I was curious about it. Another one that I'm extremely curious about is Quin burnt orange.
@watercolorpour
5 ай бұрын
Thank you for subscribing, this color is similar to burnt orange but slightly brighter, to my eye it is also less granulating than the burnt orange. Both colors are a delight and these color mixing suggestions will apply to Quinacridone Burnt Orange as well.

@@watercolorpour Thank you
Loved your video..thanx for..much appreciated
Brilliant video thoroughly enjoyable and so informative. Why did you draw circles on the sketch pad before????
@watercolorpour
5 ай бұрын
The circle maker is from my grandfathers workshop, he was a wood worker. I use it in nearly all of my swatch books. Often used to mark where my swatches will be placed. More than anything in remembrance.
I really enjoyed watching you paint and swatch, and my question is probably unrelated but… why did you draw all those circles at the start then not do anything with them? 😊
@watercolorpour
4 ай бұрын
Thank you, It is mark making - a tribute to my family, often made with a wooden piece from granpa’s workshop - I have done this for many years, sometimes it is in a row and organized and others it is sporadic 💛
I forgot to ask…will we still be doing our color mixing sketch book under your new blog (I hope)❤

@@watercolorpour thank you I really have learned a lot. Can’t wait for next color-it’s sort of like opening a present. Lol
How do you figure out who their best friends are? Color wheel? Thank you!
@watercolorpour
5 ай бұрын
Good question! Color wheel is limiting in watercolor because of the way the different colors behave (granulation, opacity, tinting strength) so I have found swatching colors and their mixes help me to learn which colors get along, and as I stay with my limited palette I learn more and more about the colors and who they mix best with. 😍
Interesting. I dont own a a quien sienna or a ultramarine rose. Thanks
