Watercolor Paint and Pour Great Egret / How to paint an Egret. Painting a Great Egret in Watercolor using the paint and pour method. ⚪️ My reference photo for this painting was taken at Lake Skinner, California. It’s so peaceful there, you can take a deep breath, clear your thoughts and just listen to the sounds of nature. It smells like fresh sage and chaparral, and the air is dense with pollen. There are so many insects being gobbled up by dragonflies that dart and dance across the waters surface. The water is clear enough that if you sit still up on a ledge you can watch the baby trout and shad come up to the shore. I go there and feel close to my dad. Painted in remembrance of my dad •••

Could you explain or do a tutorial on the Gamblin cold wax technique you mentioned, i.e. regarding the way you added it to the cut-out egret? Does the wax release easily from the paper under the egret? Does it leave a residue? Can you then paint normally on the paper that was underneath? Thank you for your wonderul tutorials. Paintings are beautiful and you have a lovely, soothing voice.

Both, I make my own for special projects and also use stencils by Tim Holtz, you can find them on Amazon. The one used in this video is called Speckles by Tim Holtz if I remember correctly
