Watercolor Easy flowers for your paintings

In this video, I am sharing eight of my go-to flowers when creating a floral painting! These are perfect for fillers, cardmaking, and simple little paintings. The most challenging flower in this tutorial will be the peony. Play with using the side of your brush to create the petals. There are no rules in flowers, remember nature doesn't judge, and doesn't have rules, use the colors you love, and the shapes you are pulled to, and have fun!
I continue to show gratitude for all of the amazing and brilliant watercolor teachers out there! Always find those that inspire you, and you can connect with your learning style!
Most of all have fun!
If you haven't watched yet, my Secret Tips • Watercolor secret tips... it has some great tips on water control as well as my easy little lavenders • Watercolor EASY Lavend... which also uses this fun little "dabbing" technique. When you master your water control, you will feel more confident in your paintings and painting with this magical medium.
My paper today is student grade 140# cold pressed pads amzn.to/3mwpzNC
I thought it might be fun to offer a worksheet and practice painting available for you in my Etsy shop!
You watched me paint it, and I priced it very attractively for you!
What fun, right? Your purchase will help me and YOU! What's included?
* painting from tutorial signed dated and tutorial episode name
* my pre-recording swatch I created with colors for reference (all handwritten)
* more pre-work, showing brushstrokes, descriptions
These are all my behind-the-scenes notes and prework.
Every painting is on different papers, depending on what I was teaching, different sizes, and meant for supporting you, although can be framed as well as a fun piece!

    I can't stress enough what a wonderful teacher you are! I feel like I could actually paint these along with you, and will try. I love your fringy leaves!! I struggle very much with composition, and where to even include these sweet little flowers. If you would be willing to do a video on composition, I think a lot of us would benefit from that, I sure would! Thank you so much for your tutorials! 🖌️🎨🫶

    Hi Allen! Im so glad, isnt it addictive? Painting flowers? I love them because nature has no rules, or judging good or bad all flowers are beautiful unique and special! Tell me a little more about the balancing? Maybe referring to composition?

  • @DebbieWalkerArtmadeeasy

    @DebbieWalkerArtmadeeasy

    Жыл бұрын

    @@allenmccormack39 Yes, that can happen; it is helpful to balance the colors and shapes. I typically, as a rule of thumb, work in threes. I find it easy and always creates a nice look. Meaning I create three main focus flowers. I also am careful of colors if you have "complementary colors" (working on a video on this). These are opposites of the color wheel, it can create an imbalance if used incorrectly. Trying to keep this simple here for you. Use analogous colors, those colors right next to each other on the color wheel. Use three main focus points. An old rule of thumb I learned in college as well is to divide your paper into visually three sections, place one object into each section, balance their size, and use colors that are next to each other on a color wheel, for example red, orange, yellow or blue, purple and red. This ensures you do not have one section that has a really large, heavier-feeling object on one side. There are more principles, I feel this is a good place to start. Usually, it is caused by an imbalance on one's side, or the colors are opposites and create imbalance. I hope this helps! Keep your eyes open for a coming tutorial on some color theory and composition~ I also have a free ebook that talks about composition.. tr.ee/b5mjIs9fyF Happy painting Allen! Stick with it, I promise if I can do this so can YOU!
