Water-cooled stirling engine
Turn on subtitles for more information.
So... this is a water-cooled external combustion engine made with spray paint cans, steel and aluminum wires, copper tubes, high-temperature silicone sealing, screws, etc. It's an evolution of my last engine, but it's not perfect. There are things to improve in the next project:
- the power piston is still made of rubber, which sucks;
- the displacer piston is too small and heavy;
- the copper curve (cylinder) is in an inconvenient place;
- cooling is insufficient, so I can't heat with lamps, only with candles.

You are missing the regenerator that is why its not running as fast as it should and has very little power... if you want to make it more powerful then you need to add the regenerator.. you could use steel wool for that. You did a good job with the construction.

Can you please explain what the regenerator is? I'm very interested in sterling engines. Thanks.

Quite nice and elegant design. I like it. Regenerator (or "economizer" as stated in original Stirling's patent) is porous structure, like steel wooł or similar. In every engine cycle air is flowing through it and when flows from hot area to cold, leaves there some heat. When it flows in the opposite direction, takes the heat back It improves overall engine efficiency. In this construction you could make displacer piston (here it's made of two black jar lids glued together with silicone) as a regenerator. I see another issue here. in that version the displacer is so tight, that it works as a 'damper', I mean it resist air to flow between it and walls of cylinder. It would be good when made as regenerator, because it will force all the air to flow through the active regenerator structure, but in my opinion in this case displacer should have smaller (only a little bit though) diameter to ease air flow during motion of the displacer.

Or maybe I'm wrong here... You said it is 2mm space there. It may be enough.

Very good job pédagogicaly Perfect 😇
Beautifully made, very informative and educational video. CCs nice describe some important issues. It's good guide for someone who like to make that kind of engine. Good work on both the engine and the movie.
Nice and clear video! I will try to make one myself, thanks for it!
What a nice, smooth running engine, well done and well made. It's good to see a different approach to making these little engines 😊.
Great work empirical Engineer, like the ancient times, thanks for sharing your video with us. The world is already better with people like you and I, and many great individuals here in comments too.
Wow... your trick is amazing, friend. Great
Hey, i really appreciate your vids! i think the first vid i got introduced to you was tha alcohol burner. ill never make any of these but theyre satisfying to watch.
You have a good skill, it would be much better than free energy considering its power
Thank you Wonderful exercise Educational value for young and old
Da könnte ich jetzt stundenlang zuschauen.😀👍❤ 22:22
Well-done sir.❤
Always fascinating stuff
Excellent, once again!
Nice toy.... Now build a high pressure one and then you can get some serious power out of it
Ótimo trabalho aí Parabéns gostei muito 👍

Pistão quente batendo no fundo do cilindro!!! 🫂 Obrigado!!!!
Um like pra você.
Nice Job
Lovely well done🎉
You done well 👌👍
Very good
Top demais!!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
In Siberia this work fine 😁
No. Is not working. I construct exactly the same. ICE AND HEAT are not not giving strokes just only compretion. Any suggestions?
nice
Creatif inovatif 👍👌
Das ist Gut😀❤👍
Good like 👍
TRY VIVEO SHOWING IT IN FULL, IT'S A BIG CAN YOU CAN'T SEE IT ALL, IT LOOKS LIKE IT'S A FAKE SOMEONE IS TWISTING ON THE CYLINDER OF THE CAN
Super😊

Bravo🎉😂❤
Helo
230 the duct should be made of a material that conducts heat Poorly.! NOT metal. 1604 this is a heavy and inferior pivoting linkage design. the connecting rod should be bent, near its 'bottom', so that the con-rod aligns with the piston rod. 1835 the con-rod needs to be Correctly bent, near the diaphragm. the use of heavy metal bits at the diaphragm is NOT recommended. 2159 due to its location, the ice will not be effective. the design of the diaphragm is Poor. d

Bro you are too wasting your time in this blog , take little bit faster 👍
