We had success (my 6 and 3 year old and I) using very warm water. Cold water from the tap made the wax solidify very quickly. We used plain melted old candles and added colored birthday candles to get color. The color was very light, but better than nothing! We had fun making this craft on a rainy afternoon. Lots of clean-up though....
I loved how this turned out! So pretty :D
This is so cool! I never thought wax could get such a cool effect when submerged in water!
i love this video, great job!,ive watched it about 5 times.it really looks amazing yet simple.id like to see more videos with more techniques or more color combos.
I was doing this back in the 70's, used to sell them.
Brilliant and beautiful. Never thought water candles could be a "kid-safe" project!
This looks so cool!!!
That is just awesome!
that is so friggin' cool!
this is awesome!!!
beautiful!
What if I wanted to scent the candle? O I do pour the oils when melting the wax?
So cool!!:)
WOw, it is cool. :-) Wish I had the place to make something like that!
Very well done!!!
That's fantastic, what temperature should the hot wax be when pouring into the dish? And how cold shoul the water be?
wow amazing ill try that cool one
that was cool!
would be cool to possibly set that into a gel candle after for a underwater coral reef effect
Black and white would look awesome

Hatter Reeves yes, it would! I've never done thus, but your idea makes me want to try. 😆
It looks like coral :)
Expecting these type of candles.. Thank you very much.. God bless..
Thx for showing me:)
Would it be possible to set a small version of this inside a gel candle for underwater coral reef effect? i always thought Gel wax had to be heated to a much hotter temperature. Would this cause your water candle to melt?
I LOVE IT...IT'S VERY SPECTACULAR...
BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!
Wow soo cool thanks for sharing that is a great idea.
I've done this before... its so cool
do you need hot or cold water to do this
SO COOOOL
what kind of wax did you use?
FANTASTIC
could u do two colours at one time?
BEAUTIFUL
thx for sharing! :)
Does it have to be parrafin wax, or can you also use soy wax?
How would i package it
I use tapers, and warmer water. Pour some wax on the base right over the bucket, holding it by the top of the taper, and keep pouring while you dip and spin the candle. www.deviantart.com/derby80/art/Water-candles-again-780084810
wouldnt the whole stick of wax fall over if a part of it has melted?
Lovely.
I wish I could hit LIKE more than once!!!

rob has a steadier hand
the first red bit just looks like an organ.
Making candles can be dangerous because they may malfunction and cause a house fire - this must be clear when using home made candles.

Paula - you have never been very tactful in my opinion. If you didn't like the tutorial - you did not have to watch it. You are definitely in the minority. Go back to your fried chicken!!
