I recommend oil based hazers for Outdoor and large indoor events. And water based for small to mid sized indoor events and for mobile DJ or band use.

Great video! Thank you. I have always been confused by this topic because I do not really understand the difference. Does water-based fog juice not contain vegetable-based glycerine? And if so, isn't that oil? And if not, then what is in it other than water? When you buy fog machines, there doesn't seem to be different types, it's just a "fog machine". Can all fog machines work with either type?

Thank you! Our water-based fog fluids do not contain glycerin. Also, there are different types of fog machines! There are water based machines, and oil based machines, and each can vary in output. Because water based fluids are vaporized and oil based fluids are broken down or "cracked", you cannot use water-based fog fluid in an oil-based machine, and vise versa. There are some machines that can do both though!

Hi. Are oil based machines more oily or sticky on the dance floor? We don’t want anyone to slip. I found a oil based I like. I am a wedding Dj. I just want it to run on the very lowest setting. So I have a little haze during the night. Will I be ok with oil based machine ? Thank you!

Hi Naveen, it all depends on what machine you're using and the settings you're running. Oil Based machines can leave an oily residue on the dance floor if not operated correctly. Also some venues don't allow oil based so its always good to check ahead of time!

Hey Nathan! If you are running a water based hazer at maximum output in a confined space you may experience moisture. The key is to have the hazer running at a lower output, this gives the haze enough time and space to dissipate correctly.

We do not recommend using water-based haze in an oil-based machine. The heaters are very different because the viscosity between water and oil is very different. Always use water-based fluids with water-based machines and oil-based fluids with oil-based machines.

My partner is a singer and she can not sing if there is an oil based smoke in the air.

It is not dangerous as long as you are using the correct fluid in your machine.
