Great looking video! I love the simple explanations. A couple of things to note is that the standard fluid for the DF-50 is actually oil based, a water based fluid is available for the DF-50. Most fog machines actually use water based fluids and not oil based fluids. For example most of the fog fluids offered by the biggest brands in the entertainment industry-Look Solutions, LeMaitre, Ultratec-are primarily water based. Even most Halloween fog machines use water based fluid.
I was a little hazey on the subject. 🌫 Thanks for clearing that up!

That Humidifier Tip is Awesome! Thanks
thank you for letting us know about the haze in a can! if my workaround doesn’t work i will go that route
This scene is looking awesome
Excellent simple overview that answered all of my questions.
Thanks for this straight forward, informative video. I got exactly the info i needed. Liked and subscribed!
Thank you so much for keep making videos. Seriously one of my favorite channel
Thanks for the vid. Very informative! 🙏🏽
Thanks for making this video.
IMHO your set with the hazer and the light looks substantially better than normal (they both look great but I like it more with the hazer)

Yes! Adds so much more depth and takes away some of the harshness I found with the original set. Love the look
Thanks ! That was very useful !
Thank you for the video & showing the examples of the other videos to compare. I'm looking for a compact size haze that I can put in the back of my vehicle with my other film equipment. I like the equipment that looks small, easy to move & set up but very powerful in results.
Excellent info thank you..
Great video!!
I really appreciate your channel. Thoughtful. Efficient. Professional. No fluff. Straight to the point. Informative. Bravo!

The haze machine (www.reelefx.com/product.125) you're using is mineral oil based. The fog machines you mentioned are water based (glycol). You got things switched around. Your info is categorically incorrect.
I really like how your face is lit in this video - a very nice look and it allows you to move about fairly freely. Any hints as to how it was done, and what you used as the keylight modifier?
great video!
Thanks
Very interesting, subbed :)
Have you used the smoke genie
Can you show us your c200 settings and explain? I got one too an I am interested how your canon is set up :)
thank you for the video, what haze machine you use in this video?
Rene Richie brought me here. 💡
Thank you. Great information and those beautiful blue eyes just took my attention away.
Please make a video on Diffusion filters such as Black pro mist vs in post-production
i just got me a eurolite NH-10 Hazer and i must say its amazing for beeing around 80 bucks with fluid included! Not for professionals obv but if all u want is to highlight a little laser projector or something similar its 100% adequate!

Nice! Biggest thing I miss with the cheap ones is silent operation

Indeed it is quite loud... But in my case, I do some private raves, it doesn't matter at all!
Loved this! I've never used haze or fog on a set, and am totally using it on the upcoming production. Thanks for explaining the differences. I was about to order a fog machine, and am now realizing I need a hazer.
I am a twitch streamer that wants to do dancing under laser light show in my room with all my equipment. Will the haze machine damage my equpiment or will I be able to do this? I plan to put a laser light projector on the ceiling and point it down and I want to dance under the laser beams and have them show up in stream but I want to know if I can do this without worrying about damage my PC, cameras, mics, dslrs etc...
I think you re not right...the fog of fogmachines mostly is waterbased and hazer uses oilbased liquids!
How do fire alarms react to haze?
Great tip about the humidifier! Is there a more efficient preference to using an Evaporative vs Ultrasonic vs Steam humidifier?

The humidifier takes hours to fill a space, but it's safe and cheap!
Do you have a good method for keeping a consistent level throughout a shoot? Any good way to measure or quantify the haze level? Or do you just go by eye?
@Crimsonengine

It's really tough. You almost need a dedicated crew member to keep haze running and keep track of density.

so the hazer wont work outside ?
I love also your Audio, the sound quality, can you send me a video link talking about the MIC you're using?, I'm listening with a Bluetooth speaker (JBL) and the base sound really good men, I need it for acting indoors with friends! Thank you for you content men, awesome channel! 👍

Oh thank you! Happy help.
most fog machines can run on Glycerin and distilled water dont have to be oil based
I must admit the shot without haze look very sharp and has more colour information than the one with haze, I don't if it is just me ,
you forgot one, dust. if you're shooting a scene in an ancient tomb or an abandoned building, some fine particles swirling around in your hazy rays of light add a bit more realism.
*Correction. There are many, many water based fog machines.
It smells like "Cotton Candy"? Like the S.o.s. smoke? lmao 🤣
Nice video and very informative. Bro your material is so good and still 25K subs ?!, I follow you since ages but seems that you are stuck in this number, maybe you need to rethink the way you promote your channel. Your content is good, is just that is not getting to the right audience maybe?
@Crimsonengine

Thanks, but I don't promote the channel at all. I enjoy making these and giving back to other filmmakers. I'm happy that people get something from them and if they want to subscribe, thats great. I'd still make these videos if no one watched them because I enjoy doing it.

deadass saw this done on a legit film once for a backyard grill scene after the fog machine broke.
Film equipment is ridiculously over priced.
