This movie makes terrifier look like a disney film

Well, the reason it is called the Sadness is because all of the infected people are still themselves, they just cannot control their most evil and perverse urges anymore. That is why you can sometimes see infected people crying while committing these horrible acts. Because they are still aware of what they are doing and cannot stop themselves. It is like being a prisoner inside of your own body, which makes this worse than any zombie plague. Also this movie was inspired by a long running comic book series called Crossed, which was probably inspired by the classic Romero film, The Crazies.

I will never forget watching this movie for the first time speechless, mouth agape for basically the entire runtime. It was almost like hypnotizing how depraved the infected are. It was giving The Crazies remake on meth.

"The Sadness"reminds me a bit of a comic series called "Crossed". The infected in that act much the same way, only not crying. They regularly murder and rape people and spread the infection.

Yeah, Zzavid got you good 😭😭 but foreign horror is wild ride like I Saw The Devil is a great example

The Sadness had been brought up during a live and decided to look up the plot. Girl, when David dared you to watch this, I was like, "Ah, naw!" lol. I won't be watching it. I can't with the SVU aspects. I really hate that in films. Plus, who needs all that blood. PASS! lol. I am happy you made it through, Jay! 😂

this is actually inspired by a comic called "crossed" and its MUCH more graphic and violent

Actually, the title in translate to English is "cry in sadness" but the pronunciation is Cow-pay, and it sounded like "wtf" or "obnoxiously disturbed" in Taiwanese... Lol

I read a comic book that is very much the same, but in the U.S. and it went way more into what evils both infected and non infected are capable of.

The director of this movie is a Canadian actually, and inspired by Crossed. Taiwan also made a lot of horror movie, there is another famous called Incantation, for me I think it's a better movie. A feature of Taiwanese movie is that the plot is close to the daily life. 10:21 On May 21, 2014, a man randomly killed other passengers on Bannan Line with two paring knives and a swiss knife. Causing 4 death and 24 injuries. It is the first and only attacked event happened in Taipei MRT. I think it is alluding to the incident

This movie was actually created by an Canadian film writerand it’s based on the comic book series “crossed” where an infection takes over and causes the infected to act out their most disturbed thoughts or things they would never do in their right mind. It’s a wild series and the movie did in insane job portraying it without using the crossed rashes that the infected gets across their faces.

@@tims5978 the idea is that the virus doesn't make you magically more evil than you truly are at your core. It's when the most darkest thoughts they could have become uncontrollable. You are still yourself in the end. So therefore an average woman wouldn't even have a thought of raping someone. The concept is really scary how it show's what humans really are without any kind of filter deep down. But if you look at history and what disgusting things humans have done throughout time it makes sense. We all have it in us whether you want to admit it or not.

It's amazing this was filmed During Covid like wow

I'd never seen this movie as well, and I recommended my sister, her boyriend at the time, and my mum watch it together, with me thinking its a 28 days later zombie esque violent film, not to this level. By the end of it they all thought I was deranged that I'd recommended this. The film ended with just me and my sister's boyfriend in the room lol.

Pleaaase watch more Asian horror! This is a pretty rare case, as Asian horror isn’t usually so gory or sadistic (this movie was actually directed by a Westerner), but the way they explore horror is super unique compared to Western cinema!

I went in watching this blindly thinking it was some typical gory virus movie, BOY i was wrong, I never been so traumatized :D

A rough ride. But so damn well shot and made! Needs to be seen (if the viewer can stomach it). I have the 4K Steelbook from Germany, and I find original Mandarin is the best audio to watch it in.
