listen i thought i was going to hate the way it was filmed

So this movie is part of its own little universe apparently. There’s the prequel/first film “Searching”, which is filmed just like this one, and then there’s “Run” which is filmed more traditionally. Each movie has ties to the others with background Easter eggs. There is also a bonus story that runs through Searching and Missing if you pay attention to the news stories and social media in the background.

My heart broke real bad for Heather 😭 miss thing was really a DV service specialist that turned into a good friend that put her life on the line for Grace and June 🥺💔

I LOVED this movie. When I went to see it in theaters I’m ngl I wasn’t really interested in seeing it but my mom made me go see it with her and I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. We were in one of the smaller rooms at our local theater too and it was surprisingly packed and the way everyone was gasping and shocked it made it even more enjoyable. We were ALL so invested lmfao

So true! I remember my mother suggesting we watch a movie from the same director I think? It had a similar mystery thriller story as this movie, I think it was also found footage, but after that her movie recommendations have been BOMB! We went to see this movie together and were so into it when we left the theatres we couldn’t stop talking about it lol. Good times!

At first, I just wanted to watch it in Netflix because I was bored and at the start, it didn't really effect me yet but then things get twisted, I got hooked bro and I literally forced my sister to watch it too 😂

At one point while watching, when they found out the mom was an actress, I said "there are so many twists, at this point you might as well say that the dad is still alive!" I wish I could've seen my face when I saw the reveal

This movie is so good that when I first watched it, I watched it again after I just finished it.

as soon as the Live Photo part and the part where heather was dead and the dad was the one causing so much shocked me but I wonder what happened to Kevin unless I missed it 😭

So apparently per imdb this movie is a standalone sequel to the movie Searching with John Cho and that little intro after the home movie of the dad is a docudrama based on the events from that film

i just watched it rn on Netflix for the first time, and my mom saw me watching it near the end and started getting invested herself (even though she was rlly confused lol.) So now I’m planning on rewatching it soon with her so she can see everything from the beginning, and luckily she didn’t see the ending so she hasn’t been spoiled 🙏

A movie I would recommend would be the prequel, Searching. I haven’t watched it in years, but I remember really enjoying it which is why I knew I would like Missing. It’s filmed the same way.

yea heather was super sus to me too at first but then i thought somebody gotta be in witsec for her to be tellin junebug let the law handle it & turns out i was right 😄 loved watchin this movie again with your witty commentary and hopefully in the future you'll react to both searching (2018) & profile (2021) which are similar technology centered thrillers ✌🏾

i watched this earlier this year let me tell y’all the plot twist had me all over the place i felt so embarrassed trying to figure out how who it was and they literally pulled out of nowhere. It made sense but man they had me stunned. But it was so engaging also every time jay say she doesn’t trust heather i was girl if only you knew and you’re in for a treat 😂. The plot twistsssss in the movie reminds me of the first book in a good girl’s guide to murder. Y’all should read it if y’all loved this movie.

@@jaymeetsworld1 okay so this first one is pretty mid but intense, Spree, and some others that I found to be best are Searching, Host, and Unfriended(one of my top movies of this genre) There are so many other but those are the ones that stand out to me the most. Fair warning: Spree was not my fav acting and story wise, but there are intense and uh….very bloody scenes. Unfriended is also very mature and has mid storylines but is my second fav Loved this reaction, Missing was my favorite movie of this genre!!

I watched this a time ago and oh my god i was STRESSED

I saw this in theaters existed to watch it but I went with my stepmom, step sister, step brother, sister and half sister (thought was gonna be me, my dad and sister). My half sister was 1 and screaming the whole time and we go there late.

bro this movie especially out of all the weird plot twist movies is the best. the acting was so wholesome as well.

I love these types of films where they show the persepctive of a computer screen, such as Missing, Searching, Profile and Unfriended. It makes you realise how much of a digital footprint we leave due to our online activity.

me and my friend saw this and had the theater alone so at every twist we were like "WHAT" "OMG!!"🤣

Jokes on you was wild, i low-key felt bad i laughed so hard at that lol

theirs a show that you should watch, its called "love and death" since its also about true crime. Its also a series and I guess I'm just recommending you to watch it since I personally also loved it. its a little like Dahmer based on the vibes it gives off, but I guess I don't want to tell you much about it since I'm not sure if you like going into movies/shows blinded meaning, without you knowing anything about the show or movie but yeah 10/10, its called "love and death" and it stars Elizabeth Olsen along it in so incase your interested on what it's about you could also google it because I'm not the greatest at summarizing.
