Savage Garden was my favourite band growing up. I'm so proud of Darren and what he endured over the years.

Savage Garden was absolutely incredible and definitely a large part of Australian 90's music culture. I was fortunate enough to see their Affirmation tour when I was about 11 or 12 years old. Was amazing. I was so happy when they released a DVD of their Brisbane show of the tour. So much energy, fantastic live performance. A fond memory.

The Animal Song is from the soundtrack of the movie The Other Sister starring Juliette Lewis and Diane Keaton. Its a lovely movie you should see if you get a moment

Omg I love Darren so much. I also started listening to them again and am in love all over again. His voice is so beautiful and soothing.

Love his voice, he's very easy to look at too, lol.

I Want You was alllllllll over the radio when it came out in 1997. It was in HEAVY rotation. To The Moon and Back is my absolute favorite Savage Garden track, Affirmation is awesome as well. Please check those out sometime.

This gentleman has gone through a lot during his career and after watching his interview where he reveals a lot about what happened, man, my respect for him is really high. It is a shame we don't have this quality music anymore. Love your reactions.

I love Darren Hayes. His voice is incredible and all his songs outside or inside Savage Garden are amazing. And this is a great selection. "Insatiable" was his first solo single. His last album "Secret Codes And Battleships" was released in 2011. I think he is doing stand-up comedy now. Such a waste with a voice like that. I miss him so much. I wish he would return to music, so bad. OMFG in fact I've just learned that he's back to music actually. His new single and music video "Let's Try Being In Love" is amazing. I love it. The bass is insane there !

"Insatiable" is probably his most Savage Garden sounding solo single. To me his later stuff like "Popular" is a lot more interesting. That's really a fun one. You should definitely check ist out. Oh, and of course his Madonna covers ("Angel", "Dress You Up"). Fantastic!

Do you know Darren has just released a new song after a long hiatus? It's called "Let's try being in love". You should definitely check out more of SG and his solo songs.

I LOVE Darren Hayes. Since 1997!! His falsettos and his voice is from the Heavens! He’s also kind, compassionate, and sweet.

If we could have harnessed the collective energy everyone in the 90s spent on learning the lyrics to I Want You we wouldn't be having an energy crisis now.

As soon as the first song started I got chills all over and transported back to childhood lol!!

Really love seeing someone hear for the first time songs that are as familiar to me as breathing. His music has been a huge part of my life ever since the first time my teenage self heard I Want You on the radio in '97. From his solo work, I have a special fondness for the tracks Casey, Bloodstained Heart, Black Out the Sun, and Unlovable (that's another one that may have you going "I'm not even trying to figure out what he's saying" lol). Honestly, though, I can count on one hand the number of songs he's done that I don't truly love--he's a really amazing artist.

I only just realised the actress Kristin Dunst, from the movie bring it on , is in the video for I knew I loved you . You learn something every day

The Animal Song was part of a movie soundtrack, I think its title was "The other sister" (not 100 % sure, though).

Their best song, IMO, was "To the Moon and Back." I also wanted to recommend "Virtual Insanity" by Jamiroquai. It's got one of the best music videos of the '90s, and the song's an interesting little cultural snapshot too.

The tension and the spark wasent even released in the USA,they wouldn't let him promote it and they told him the radio stations didn't want to play it.the record company couldn't handle him being gay as Darren put it they buried him when he started his solo career.

I love savage garden and the animal song was on the soundtrack for the Gary Marshall film The Other Sister, as well as on their album Affirmation

Oh no...it faded out before the sexiest bit. On the full track when the song ends, he literally pants 'insatiable' in a very sexual way. It leaves you in no doubt that the 'fall asleep inside of you' bit probably meant exactly what you thought it meant! Anyway, lovely to hear it again. Glad you enjoyed it.

5:00 where you said your not even gonna try understanding the lyrics of I want you. Try and decipher Informer by Snow. Still to this day I for the life of me cannot understand a word other than Informer in the chorus and nearly the same in the verses. As a very little kid in the late 90s & early 00s, Savage Garden were massive on the radio. I was quite a fan & remember most of their songs quite well

Great mix by Savage Garden and a little Darren at the end to ease me into Saturday! I heard recently that he is working on something atm, so new stuff coming from Darren soon I think! Been more than 10 years so will be interesting. But it's Darren so will be great but interested in seeing what it's like.

I worked at a record store when Affirmation came out. I sold hundreds of that CD every day and almost nothing else.

I just realized i forgot to add the impressive details around Holly Valance being in that soap opera. Its one of Australias longest running soap operas,and its called Neighbours. Kylie Minogue,Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn),Guy Pearce,Jason Donovan (i believe he was also another solo music artist) and many more come from Neighbours. Its where they all started out and that created a springboard into Hollywood etc.
