In regards to Lexi putting Rue’s dads funeral in her play, it seems cruel to us however in previous episodes Lexi sent Rue a copy of the play. Rue was the only person who knew that the play would be about their lives and that it would touch on Rue’s Dad because it’s about Lexi and how everything around her affected her. Rue losing her father to cancer and Lexi losing hers to drugs led to them losing each other. Rue to drugs Lexi to her mind. That’s why Rue is not upset with Lexi because Lexi humanised her. Lexi showed her that she’s been through a lot and that Rue is still loved by Lexi. That’s why she says it’s beautiful and that’s why she stands by her. that’s why she’s cheering for her because that is her friend and her friend who just wanted to reconnect with her, her friend who just wanted to show that yes her childhood best friend had drug addiction and yes they drifted apart but at the end of the day she misses her friend. all she wants is them together again and sober Rue telling Lexi that her dad loves her more than he loves himself is comforting because there undoubtably have been moments where Lexi has had to console and comfort Rue over her substance abuse, over her dad passing, so now it was Rue’s time through to reciprocate and be a good friend. This might be my favourite part of the finale how Rue and Lexi‘s friendship was revived. Two friendships that have been around for 4+ years (Maddy and Cassie) and 13 years+ (Rue and Lexi) started on opposite sides in season one. Maddy and Cassie started out as the best of friends, as thick as thieves while Lexi and Rue were on shaky ground and didn’t really know where they stood with each other in season one and quite a bit of season two but it ends with Maddy and Cassie being the ones who are on shaky ground and whose friendship is potentially not going to survive what Nate did to them and what Cassie chose to keep doing while on the other side Lexi’s play brought Rue back to her and brought back their friendship and made them stronger and the juxtaposition is just *chefs kiss* So favourite moment was the talk they had that ended up with a lot of crying and when Rue told Lexi her play was beautiful and we got to see Rue truly smile. when we got to see her just be a teenager who is cheering her friend on, that was my favourite part of this finale when Rue was sober

when people refer to drugs especially in this show they mean drugs like heroin or alpraxolam taken for no medical reason. so in this context hormones aren’t drugs

I don't know if it's because I'm an older audience member, but I firmly believe that Lexi put the play on for 2 reasons. 1. To remind Rue of who she is. 2. To get her sister away from Nate.

@idk anymore I don't showing how cruel & abusive he is in front of the school would have worked on getting him to break up with Cassie because he isn't insecure about that part of his personality. He cares the most about how people see him sexually. Embarrassing him would have been the only way to get him to break up with her sister. And that's what needed to happen because Cassie wouldn't leave him, even for her own good. Lexi saw the truth in Nate that Cassie wouldn't or couldn't see anymore.

This sounds so bizarre to me cause my parents were super chill. 😂 They always just wanted to know that I wasn't going alone (they knew my closest friends and trusted them) and then they would text me few times during the evening to ask if everything's okay. I didn't even really have a curfew, they let me stay out for as long as I wanted as long as the next day wasn't school. Really the only thing was that they would drill into my head before every party to NOT get into a car with someone drunk. Told me to rather call them at 2 AM to come pick me up. Which I did, multiple times, and they never even complained. Yeah. My parents were pretty great.

this might be an unpopular opinion but between nate or cal going to prison I would’ve preferred nate. the scale of illegal and fucked up things nate has done surpass the things his dad has done and he still shows no remorse for any of it.

I genuinely dont think Rue cared abt them as much as we thought she did. At the end of the day, they were just her dealers. She only ever went to them when she was high or wanted drugs. Even tho Ash n Fez protected her like she was their sister. *an edit cause I j remembered* :it never actually showed rue making amends with fez after that whole thing but it showed her making amends with elliot, Lexi and jules kinda 😭??

I'm very happy to see how uncomfortable you are with the 'minors' in sexual situations. That is a normal response. Adults shouldn't be watching children like that, regardless of the actor's age.

Watch the whole series, including the 2 special episodes that take place between season 1 and two. This show has been picked up for a third season which is reported to premiere in 2024
