Oh my! 😍 That Syngonium is just stunning! I’m pretty sure you’re the only KZreadr that I’ve seen attaching the plants and the support pole on first before putting them in a pot, love that,I’ve been doing it your way ever since you started your channel. Thank you Nora, 💚💚🪴🌿👌🏻 Natalie It’s getting cold here in SA,hope you’re keeping warm! 🍁🍂🔥

Thank you. growing my plants in leca, it makes more sense to me anyway, to put the plant on the pole before potting it up. I think that is one of the small differences between using moss poles in leca and using them in potting mix. The tiny tweaks make a difference. And yeah, it is freezing!!!

That is really impressive! I have made a short one out of some old wire mesh. In a very dry climate so it needs something like tree fern fibre and plastic back to maintain moisture but a fun experiment with moss

I love a before and after video. Thank you. It’s clear to me that you’re not focused on a side-by-side equal comparison between the two plants on the moss pole and the one without support that ended up being potted alone, but I think it’s possible some people may assume this proves that moss poles are required to grow full plants that size up. Cuttings can vary in general but I bet if you had provided support to the plant that wasn’t on the moss pole using a simple rod from day one, it would have grown more impressively (but honesty it looked pretty great to me). Another part of what adds to the lovely reveal of the plants on the moss pole is that the pole helps the plants face forward which also helps to create a fuller look. I’ve started using additional rods hidden behind the plant to help shape plants that want to grow in different directions. *But a single source light facing my plants is still my favorite approach to encourage a lovely shape. I only mention these point because for people who don’t like the look of moss poles, and/or would prefer less maintenance and overall costs, I think rods can be a great alternative. The argument that plants with support rods don’t have the added benefit of an extended root system is fair and worth mentioning, but mine still put out aerial roots. Those aerial roots activate when I take cuttings and propagate. In fact, I find in most cases, it doesn’t take too long for my cuttings to have nice root systems (it just takes a little longer for them to catch up to what the root system may have been in the moss pole assuming all went well leading up to the cut and repot). Either way, I’m glad you used a syngonium for this example. They are so underrated. Yours looks gorgeous. Mine in LECA are some of my favorites despite the fact that I wasn’t crazy about them back when I was growing them in soil (because for me, they didn’t grow as well in soil).

Hello my gorgeous beautiful plant friend. I always look forward to reading your comments. They fill up my day. Your comment is spot on about the comparisons, and you have now prompted me to make a video where I am comparing a syngonium growing up and moss pole and one growing on a trellis. What do you think about this? What elements should I include to make it a worthwhile experiment? I will be using cuttings from the same plant, a Syngonium Mojito which I have available. I can't wait to hear what you think.

I am super curious to see how it goes. I’d love to see plants growing side-by-side up different support systems.
