she probably mad those *sounds during eating to try and protect found food from other cats (?). what you posted reminds me of my sister's cute tiny fluffy white runt cat 'Sugar'... no claws (none of her circumstances (being clawless) were my decision and i did protest). but I loved on her so much and pampered her, giving in to whatever she wanted to do. when my parents divorced, she went to live with my extremely emotionally cold father. the few times I visited her, I saw her get ignored and literally kicked out of the way by him when she tried to get affection. It breaks my heart to this day. he kept letting her outside at his new place and, one day, she was nowhere to be found. I hope someone else found her and gave her a better home... :(

@@grannym2880 Her meows sounded hoarse beforehand in the video before they even took her home, which sounds very similar to infected cats. Not to mention the fact she was in a feral colony and Upper Respiratory Infections are like the flu for cats; so baths do not cause URIs. URIs are spread through direct contact with an infected cat or through, less common but still possible means, like infected items like bedding, water/food bowls, litterboxes. Hope this explains a bit on how URIs work. :)

I don't think she had been a stray for very long as she fitted right in with the people and their home and was very comfortable very quickly. Such a character!

It could be because she was young too. We rescue stray/feral cats from time to time, & usually the younger they are, the easier they adapt. They’re not as defensive as the older cats, who’ve had to spend a lot of time defending themselves.

The “ parents “ talk like real parents . It is so funny and loving to hear people talk about their pets as if they where their children. She even imitates here in the crabdance. It makes me less guilty. I even give them my surename when they do something naughty. But we all love our pets and give them a good home.

It was an ironic joke cause I feel myself the cat mama of my four beautiful lovely cat sons. They are my unconditional loves and brighten up my day.

It's a cat "thing" that some feral cats will claim specific humans. Once survival isn't an issue, the cat's loving personality will fully emerge, and the humans' lives will be more fun. This lovely couple and Soki are exemplars of the phenomenon. They make me feel the world will be alright.

She's not feral. Feral cats are born wild and they don't approach humans. This was a house cat who was lost or abandoned. Her appearance in the beginning shows that. Feral cats aren't unkempt and sick. They can take care of themselves because they've never known anything else. A pet who's been taken care of and then abruptly tossed onto the street to survive fares much worse. She wouldn't have lasted long if these good people hadn't found her.

@@texasred2702 this is incredibly untrue. First, this cat is probably not older than two months, which is the age where feral kittens are the easiest to butter up. We just found a ~7 week old feral kitten in our basement and it took 45 minutes of forced petting for her to settle down and act like a house cat. Second, Not only is this cat’s coat severely matted indicating she’s probably never been groomed even non-professionally, but feral cats can and do suffer from a wide range of skin issues and disease, not to mention infections from scar tissue. That’s a really weird myth, feral cats (or any domesticated animal) aren’t just somehow built like wild animals somehow incapable of getting dirty, they are still domestic breed cats that require at least access to human civilization to survive. Plenty of feral cats in urban areas build bonds with the humans that feed them, they’re smart and affectionate animals by nature. That bond easy fosters a trust in humans, which can lead to older and younger street cats alike choosing to seek out affection.

Sounds like she needs a playmate, gorgeous kitty.

The "crab dance" is how cats defend themselves from attack. She is puffing herself up to appear larger to her attacker (you when pkaying) it's great practice, should she ever get outside again. ❤😻❤😻❤😻😻😻

I am so grateful to God for people like you who are not only able to help animals but actually do step up and take a poor little baby into your home and your heart. You are giving that precious cat a wonderful life. I am not able to give any animal a home right now but I hope and pray my circumstances will change and I will once again be able to take in another sweet kitty. Thank you very much for rescuing her! Since she is so active: you might adopt another one or two from a shelter or a colony. She needs feline friends. Also when you have more than one, they entertain each other. You appear to have the required space! Proud humom of 10 rescues here :-).

There is a beautiful calico cat I've been feeding for two years. She's okay with sitting as close as two feet away from me, but if I get closer to try to pet her she hisses and attacks. I've long stopped trying to breach her boundaries. She now comes in the morning and sits beside me if I'm chilling in the porch, eats her food, takes a nap and leaves by sunset.

Our cat is the same. Cuddled to get adopted and proceeded to be aloof for years. We are just grateful he sometimes allows pets. Loves to show off his beauty by lying in the warm sun.

Poor kitty, was getting sick and needed help... Even strays keep themselves clean, so seeing her all ruffled up makes me feel she was already sick, especially being so complacent at first. Glad she got help.

Torties are so damn cute. Our tortie, Natalie, lived 18 years. But five years later a calico became available at the Humane Society. Knowing I'd wanted that coloring for years they called me. Skye is different in tempermant but more cuddly in your arms.

@@Townie7177 Tortoiseshell cats are cats that express both black and orange coloring due to a gene in the sex chromosomes, meaning they are usually always female. They generally have a mottled spotting coloration. This one is technically a calico (similar genetic based coloration also usually female), since it has a lot of white and the patches are less muddled and more uniform.

@@Townie7177 A tortie is the coloring and it's named that as it sort of resembles a tortoise shell. Not a pure calico but similar. Once you've seen a calico it is easier to disingusinh. Take care.

She was definitely asking for help. She may not have survived that infection if they hadn't taken her and she hadn't been so insistent! I love how frisky she is now🥰She is living her best life with mom and dad 🤗 I really cracked up at the end. There's this elaborate cat tunnel on the right and she's having more fun hiding under the rug🤣

The "crab dancing" is one of the best things ever that cats do! My Bella has own her personal quirky thing she does- she loves to do the "sploot" thing . where she stretches out both back legs behind her while laying with her belly flat on the floor! I laugh at her all the time over it and she just looks at me like I must be crazy! What a beautiful mix if colors your darling girl has! She reminds me of an Impressionist painting !

This video had me smiling the whole time. I love love love it. And she's ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!!

If you notice, she was responding to her 'mom' petting her while she was eating. She wasn't meowing, it was a warning - she was growling in defense of her food. Not surprising, since she had to fend for herself and find her own food when she was feral. She did good, though - she didn't actually bite or scratch, she just growled! Many newly adopted ferals would actually fight anyone who touched them while they're eating. She's a good kitty.

Don’t forget to have her spayed. Such a beautiful kitty and so much fun.

When you said she is a bit wild, the snapshot of her right then was priceless!
