@@AndrewBlacker-wr2ve I thought she'd be using a kind of sunscreen as well and probably not taken out on the brightest sunny days. I know with proper treatment and certain dietary and lifestyle changes only then can Lupus be controlled in canines. I wish them both all the best.

I have suffered with this chronic illness for forty-one years. Only my faith in God has gotten me through this. You have varying sensitivities that I've had to educate people about. The same way I had to learn when I knew nothing about the condition. So glad Nova has been diagnosed and has a new lease on life.👍🏾

I am glad she got a second chance. This is the worst condition I have seen a dog in . Nova has come around full circle.

Doing fostering, you keep a bit of distance. I've done it, and there's dogs I miss that I adopted, but I got two wonderful dogs which I did keep. The purpose is to show them a good life and there is a lot of reward in that alone. The most troubled dogs, I had to work with for a long time, and as a result, those are the ones I kept. The ones that were fragile.

@@fuzzywzhe and that’s why I can’t foster. I wouldn’t know how to distance myself! I would become too emotionally attached to want to give them up. I truly admire people who do that - people who raise puppies for a year and then turn them over for police dog training, or guide dog training - I would go outta my mind!

I have no words...one of the best rescues ever. Physical transformation was a wonderful thing 2 witness, but the bond between nova & ? was so uplifting 4 me. Makes my problems or worrying about already "spoiled" dogs I know not so important.

This guy is an angel. So many abused and abandoned dogs need a hero.

I'm almost in tears!! When she needed someone the most, you came into her life and rescued her. Thank you young man for helping her in order to recover. Her transformation is absolutely beautiful. She went from being sad and unsure to being happy and living the best life with an amazing kind hearted man!! From the apparent severity of her Lupus, I wouldn’t be surprised if that scar was from that… all that time that she’d been suffering from the condition but nobody knowing what was causing it… very *VERY* likely that she was scratching or aggressively pawing at that spot particularly often due to the scabbing and irritation With that part finally known, the part that has me the most bothered was the complete lack of muscle development in her legs… it reeks of being caged up in a kennel almost the entire day every day for months or even years… it’s about the only thing I can think of that could cause it, but physical therapy/exercise finally took care of that too

Right? I’m so tired of the stories where it appears as though the animal and the person have bonded, and they’ve healed the animal, and then the next thing you know - “…we knew Bella was ready to find a forever home” or something - uhhm… you mean your home wasn’t it? Oh, it’s a rescuer sharing their story. Well that’s kinda bittersweet. Then the animal has to be heartbroken AGAIN in their life, you know? Even if they do end up finding a loving home, it appears initially as though the rescuers are the loving home. I guess not… So yeah, props to this guy for rescuing and adopting.

​@@erikm8372 that's why I could never be a foster. I'd fall in love with them and then before you know it I'd have too many pups lol! I follow a lot of rescues and they claim they foster so they make room for more in need. No way I'm just too soft hearted when it comes to dogs. I don't think I could ever volunteer to walk them & cleanup,I'd want to take them all home with me!

I'm a foster fail to a stray female German Shepherd too. There's NOTHING on this planet that matches their hope, determination, gratefulness, loyalty, and unconditional love. God bless you for rescuing and adopting her. You're an incredible man.

There are rescues…and then there are RESCUES! This has touched my heart beyond words. I worked at a rural humane society many decades ago. Have seen, fwatched & heard of so many sad & awful stories (& of course they all are 🥺). Something about this gal & her “savior” that has squeezed my heartstrings in the biggest way. I’m soon to be 80… you think you’ve seen it all. What in Holy Heaven’s name could cause a human being to allow a little innocent pup to be this neglected 💔. My prayer is that people like that are dealt with severely here on earth…and there, in the hereafter…❤️‍🔥
