Fabric softener sheets don’t prevent the film from sticking. They are used as a tacking agent, meaning it makes it stick to the glass. You don’t want the film moving while shrinking, that’s why people use a bar of soap, downy sheets or a bag of dry shrink prep. You could wet shrink it, but then you’re using the vacuum created by squeegeeing out the water to hold the film in place. Either way, dry or wet, you want the film to stay in place.

@@anthonyscott5134 it’s quicker to type downy than it is to type fabric softener. The fact that I used two terms to define the same thing doesn’t mean I don’t know that downy is fabric softener.

Way too dark but whatever makes the owner happy. This tint shop's is top notch.

top notch would know that you are not supposed to tint that roof with more than 50% because of thermal cracking.

5% tint over factory dyed glass that is around 24%, good luck seeing at night

It’s a waste to do the sunroof - it has a ton of tech in the glass stock and the ceramic tint will not cut the heat back at all. Most of the heat comes from the front windshield and dashboard getting hot. I did my MYP sunroof and it made zero difference.

is there any risk of them messing up the car door seals? im always scared that by removing the seals and reinstalling them i will get wind noise in my cars interior. it's pretty scary looking at them just removing a ton of trim lol

How is that even legal here in southern Cal, where you can't have your driver's and passenger's side tinted, let alone the front windshield?

Windshield is 70% it’s practically clear and you can’t really tell. Two front window it’s the owner decision to go with darker tint. Be careful putting darkj tint on the roof, because this might make your roof glass crack because of too much heat. The heat will have no place to go but stay on top that will make your glass crack.

You should not go darker than 50% on the top. Any tint shop that does it without telling you the risk, is uneducated and shouldn't be tinting a $1000 replacement window.

This Model Y had 70% windshield, 5% all around and 5% top glass. It’s too dark in my opinion but you limp tint then this is the way to go. Its not legal in CA to go to 15% light transmission on the front 2 windows. Legal limit must be 70 or higher light transmission.

How long did it take you from start to finish?

Nice, but tinting your panoramic glass that dark makes it look like a hard top. You should of made it 70% tint. That you will still have natural light

I almost always remove panels on tesla because the seals are very tight and can destroy the film very quickly...

What percentage would we put on front side windows to match the back side smoked windows? Just want to tint 2 fronts to match the 2 rears..

Hi, I got the response from SoCal Tint shop. Full stealth matte PPF for Model Y is $6,000 and it will take about 3 days.

This comes with free new rattles of all disassembled parts and clips that went loose and back on..?

He’s says it comes with colored windows and it’s not tint but he fails to mention that that colored glass blocks 96% of Sun Rays

Tesla says those privacy glass has 99% UV protection.

Surprised they only did a half back window tint. I’ve watched other videos that say that’s cheaping out and not to let installers do it only under the part of the window that is already tinted but rather the whole window top to bottom.

The owner of this Model Y requested for those windows in the back to be tinted for additional privacy purpose. They did installed the whole rear window as you can see in the video. That’s why they had to remove bottom trim of the inside rear window to be able to cover every visible area. Thank you for watching Matt! 🙏😃

@@dadstoyscars yes I watched the whole video and saw the inside install as well but I was talking about the outside back window. The tint doesn’t go to the actual bottom and top of the window. And then he razor blades it in the front window rather than pushing it to the edge of the glass.

@@mattparker7287 I believe they push each window tint as low as they can that’s why they had to remove rubber trim on the door. All of the tint film were cut with extra area and bigger that the actual window to make sure everything is covered and they can trim them out at the end.

We are located in North eastern Ohio who ever needs tint!

Nothing like that bro. You have been cheated by these people. I did the same branded tinting here in California and the work was amazing and do you know how much they charged? You don’t sleep I do tell you the actual cost is..
