I love the shorts. Thanks for designing them
Keep in mind Mike already had a large audience of 1 mil people for his apparel. If he didn't have that then it would have inevitably failed like 99% of clothing brands

Exactly my thoughts. Basically, Mike’s business is himself. That is what he is advertising. All businesses that he has have Mike Thurston, the character, at the foundation.

That was a remarkably honest and accurate video. Most influencers (especially on podcasts and in Dubai) lie like crazy and promote unrealistic business concepts.
9:40 3) You die before it does. 😬 To clarify "2)": sometimes the smart move is to pivot. With experience, you realize a better path might exist. Quitting one plan can lead to a more profitable, efficient one. It's not giving up; it's strategic redirection based on learned wisdom.
I would make this and other business videos from Mike obligatory in schools, to educate people at an early stage about what to expect in the entrepreneur world. The learning curve of a successful businessman is the best education one can ever have. Amazing content, thanks for sharing Mike!
you've been insipiration for years and i really wish you dive in deep with your success, so happy for you
Hi Mike, I'd just like to let you know I've been really enjoying the content your putting out. I started with the training episodes years ago and then over the years since have been enjoying your vlogs. Now I am really enjoying the podcasts and this video here, is a very good highlight of what we are all going through as an entrepreneur in our respective field. So thanks brother, keep doing what your doing
Great video Mike. Finally someone being truly honest about what is required to build a business
Thank you for this. Im 3 months in since going full time freelance and its been a massive shift. Really insightful video.
I love to see Mike’s growth. Very good advice. He’s evolved a lot and it’s empowering!
This is great advice that's very honest & upfront which is appreciated. Also It's cool to see the screen shots of the revenue, very transparent of you 👊
What makes it worse Mike, you like myself have physical products which need restocking, it's a whole different ball game from digital courses, not to mention shipping headaches. I would go as far as saying a purely digital business with online courses isn't a real business. New tees looking great too
I appreciate your honesty. Considering your very very isolated niche of influencer/social media content creator I'd say you need to prepare for a seachange. The era of free money, artificially (and fraudulent) low interestrates and insanely corrupt monetary policies is over. It's dying if not dead already and it's visible in social unrest, ever increasing wars, conflicts, deteriorating social cohesion, unsustainable levels of debt and even greater distrust in government, journalism and institutions that are captured by activists. It all ties together and I truly believe at some point, something will break in the realm of social media. The model based on ad-revenue isn't sustainable. Neither is the subscription-model. It's been a hell of a decade, but prepare for massive adjustments. Best of luck.

I'd say he's probably already set for life so doesn't need to worry about any change. He might not be able to live in a penthouse in Dubai forever, but if he's been smart with his money, he probably has enough tucked away to live a few lifetimes.
4mins and 40 seconds in, I had to download the video, just in case, 'cause this is amazing content. Straight to the point, exactly what I like.
I think it’s important to highlight that there are plenty of successful businesses out there. Most go by the mantra of if its not broken don’t try and fix it, meaning, the businesses that are successful out there, see what they are doing that is working and apply that to you your own business.
Hey Mike, up until a month ago I'd never heard of you, but I've enjoyed catching up on your content. This is a great video, showing that it doesn't always smell of Roses out there. I've bought some shorts and a great Tee just to see quality & if they fit a lesser muscled specimen like me (LOL) as good as they look online ...and they are superb, so I'll definately be back. You're clearly a top fella trying to hustle a better life for yourself and you're helping and inspiring a lot of people along the way, so for that I salute you mate and wish you every success.
Great video Mike, really helpful and practical advice! I'll see you at the top.
Unreal video I find this advice extremely useful. Thanks Mikey!

You know it's about to be a good day when uncle Mike posts. So much insight and such good information shared as always. Keep up the content boss!! 🔥
Im really looking forwards to more business videos like this one to add more variety, I mean I would go all in with business videos but its also true that what got you here was gym content!! Loved this

Love this! Thank you Uncle Mike!
Great advice as usual. No sugar coating.
Great video mike. Thanks for not sugar coating it, this is the truth!
Amazing video Mike keep up this type of content
Fantastic content, @MikeThurston! My lifelong dream has been to launch my own venture and become my own boss. I never thought I was cut out for this type of work. However, by setting daily micro goals, embracing the power of saying "no," and consistently challenging myself each day, my mindset has undergone a remarkable transformation. I now believe in myself more than ever before. I truly appreciate this content and am eagerly anticipating more business videos in the mix alongside your lifestyle and training content!
Great vlog as always thanks bro take care and Happy thanksgiving.

GREAT VIDEO BROTHER! Need more Business Videos PLEASE
Mike Great intell, on startup.. I live in Central California, own and run a high end mobile auto detailing, company, I have had for 15 years,I branded myself. Not ez at all, my attitude, is stick with the basics, educate your clients, show up on time, and offer a fair price, and return phone calls.. I work with a lot of celebrity's , the nice ones.. I am single, no kids and I feel that helped me to focus, and my success, has paid off.. always invest in yourself, mind body , soul.. Mitch G
Very honest video. I started agency and failed massively. Now getting back on track to start some business again. It will be great if you invite the Wise man Alex Hormozi on your podcast
Thanks brother, honest feedback!!
wow really need more videos like this one, definitely interested in seeing most of the work that goes on behind the scenes rather than the luxury and the lifestyle, even though it's inspirational, it's videos like this one that hold the real value. Huge fan of the podcast btw!
nothing but value
We definitely want more of these Mike, great vid.
After 15 years of being a solo entrepreneur, I really miss having colleagues. It's quite boring to work alone from home for 15 years. So the truth is I had way more fun and a much better social life when I was employed. The only positive now is I have total freedom and I don't have to work so much as my business for the most runs on autopilot. But not sure I would have chosen this path if I could go back in time.

Really insightful video Mike. I was curious how many more years you're planning on staying in the UAE?. You have a lot of exposure too many countries so was wondering if the UAE is a good place to move at the moment.

@mikethurston you seem like a smart fella. I'd be super interested to hear your thought on meritocracy and neoliberalism. I recall you once asking for book recommendations. Jo Littler: Against Meritocracy. You're in a powerful position. I'm interested to see what you can become... via reading.

That Hormozi quote is ridiculous. It’s basically saying never to give up on a business. It’ll make people go bankrupt. Sometimes the business savvy is knowing when to give up, not just be deluded and believe it will work eventually.
good one

Great content bro. I am currently doing dropshipping as a side hustle (I started with almost nothing honestly), and last few months I am able to hit 8000$ profits easily. That income is enough so I am considering to quit my regular job since I don't really like it xD. It gets lonely for sure. Introverts like me are completely fine, whereas extroverts might struggle big time. However it’s all worth the time and effort because it will turn one day - but then us introverts struggle because we have to actually go out and deal with “networking” haha.

Mike was wondering, how much your yt is making you by month and if its your biggest income source or your clothing brand? I noticed your vids and thinking that maybe make like 2-3k grand each ? based on the views and an avg cpm of 12-15? or am I saying crap?

Never ask your friends or family to validate your business ideas. They will always be bias to support you. Ask people that the business is targeted for…pure and simple as they are the customers that will buy what you are selling

That thumbnail LOL 😂
Before you start: - Is your product based on a new technology or process (e.g. new tools), or is it a merely a different implementation of existing products (e.g. plumber, distributor, consultant)? - research similar products on market - google is OK. Don't be scared that someone else has your idea, it is better to have no surprises. - review the Porters Five Forces model. - write a value proposition statement - This is why your customer chooses you. - identify your Best First Customer.

Trying to beat price, speed, and quality (if not backed by an underlying new technology) are not good ways to enter the market. Make a responsible assessment of what it takes to deliver your product right the first time, and don't compromise under market competition pressure.
