I heard PC only for now but will come to Xbox (and probably PS too) down the line as on the Roblox engine. If Roblox isn't on Switch then won't be there. I'm still going to check on Xbox tonight regardless just in case.

The only pvp type gameplay has been through loomian legacy

The EV stuff is a bummer for me. Hopefully there is a system like in scarlet and violet where items took care of all that.

I don't mind EV's as they don't take that long and you really only need to parcipate if you are gonna play competitive, but IV's are awful as it just ruins the game. Forcing you to catch multiple of the same thing to hopefully rng roll the best stats. While EV's don't really take that long at all and gives you that feeling of training your creatures to be the best outside of just leveling. Also helping you feel more connected to your creatures as you put time and effort into it.

I don't understand the hate for EV's cause it honestly takes a fraction of the time IV's do for smaller gains. In no way should you be complaining about EV's before you complain about IV's. It makes no sense.

IV's are awful hate them. Same with natures system I hate that too, but EV system alone at least in pokemon takes no time at all to experience and it gives you that feeling of training your pokemon outside of just leveling. The rng roll on IV's and Natures make me want to pull my hair out. You can spend hours just on natures my wife spent almost two days trying to get a modest Shellos in pokemon and gave up because she didn't catch one. Gastrodon is her favorite pokemon.

EV is also just a good system for a game like this to have as you just feel connected with your creatures and gives you a reason to keep playing the game post the story. Almost all monster tamers have a really bad competitive scene sadly. As there is no progression to go with it. People like getting stuff for anything they do and their time not feeling wasted and this is a big reason why the competitive scene for all monster tamers never took off. Also turn-based games just have a technical ceiling. Where competitive doesn't get more interesting. They generally act like chess where there is just a right way to play the game with the luck of TCG of just getting countered by their deck.

@derEd I feel like this is the problem I feel like EV's are a necessity to give a game a bit more longevity and most games you don't have to take part in it at all. Same with IV's, but if you want to take part in it IV's hurts the core experience. While EV's only add to it as now you spend time and effort into training the creatures you caught becoming more connected with them. While IV's you just toss everything that doesn't have what you want into a dumpster fire. This also is the same for nature system. I think hating longevity systems in monster tamers is a bad stance to take. Rather then just hating the ones that hurt the core experience. Which EV's do not. As if you don't want to spend the extra time playing the game you don't have too. Most people are gonna play through the base game and call it quits where they don't have to take part in these systems. Being able to fight other people mostly should be a social feature as a competitive scene is never going to be strong with turn-based play. Where people complain about having to spend too much time and effort to experience it, but if they didn't have too. They barely would play it anyway as there is no real complexity to it. When people talk about competitive in turn-based Monster Tamers it feels like a meme. Cause if it exactly was the way you wanted it, you wouldn't play it anyway, but adding systems that make you feel like you put the time and effort to get there. You are more likely to indulge in it as long as it isn't so frustrating and ruining the core experience. Like IV's and the Nature system does.

What exactly is cool about them. The fact that you get to discriminate against pokemon who don't have good IV's or the fact that the rng system takes so long to get what you want. You would be done maxing out EV's for over a 100 pokemon in a game before you managed to get the best IV's. It only detracts from the experience and makes the grind so much worse.@@HqtK I use to name all my pokemon when I caught them, but when I learned of the IV system and nature system as I got older. I stopped because I only want to name the one I'm going to keep and use. It ruined my experience with pokemon games.

As every creature you catch is effected by them. It's a feature that developers waste time putting into the game and effects competitive play and if you like to min max games like I do. It's a feature that takes way too long to get real results out of. Unlike EV's I see something tangible as I work and improve my creature. I want developers to understand that if it is in Pokemon doesn't mean it's a good system. Just like Mobas do with League of Legends. No one want to play a League of Legends clone with all it's bad quirks if you aren't really going to improve then what's the point of playing your game over Pokemon. This is also why I haven't tried Coromon and quit Temtem after playing less then two hours. As much as I like the gameplay of Palworld. The fact that Pals have IV's hurt my desire to play. Thankfully Nexomon doesn't have them, but has Natures which is almost as bad in my opinion.@@jesseyu69420
