    I’m 5.9”, female and after test rides on a S73 and NewGen, the 345 was infinitely more comfortable - the suspension makes a big difference. The S73 also has such a small frame which felt cramped, and I’m not even that tall. I bought the silver 250w 345 and it rides like a dream 🙌

    I have had my ZX since August 2021 and use it to commute to work and back, i have done over 800miles with it so far and it has been very reliable, i have changed to hydraulic brake callipers for a little better braking performance and also added front suspension forks which made an even bigger difference on our poorly maintained roads. I have also added an extra 48v 17mah battery so my range has been vastly improved and i no longer have to worry about range anxiety.

    It doesn't have 'hydraulic brakes or disc brakes', it has cable actuated disc brakes which work just as well as hydraulically actuated disc brakes. The advantages of hydraulic are better brake feel and they will stay adjusted. Advantages with cable actuated are you can choose any levers from mt biking and there's no brake bleeding nor possible fluid leaks. Either can work as well as the other and they both have good points and downsides. Thank you.

  • @ryanburr8419

    @ryanburr8419

    I've seen videos that test fully hydraulic disc brakes against mechanically actuated disk brakes and hybrid mechanically actuated hydraulic disc brakes (woah that's a mouthful). The fully hydraulic (FH) disc brakes won the test, stopping a few meters shorter than the other two types which were fairly similar. The only problem was that the FH brakes could easily lock a wheel which would result in worst performance. Fluid leaks are possible but for typical city cycling they are thankfully quite rare and shouldn't really be a deciding factor.

    Excellent analysis! in addition to the base bike the industry needs decant and honest customer service, not found with Super73. Unfortunately, my “COVID POD” invested seriously in over a dozen Super73 bikes only to be backstabbed repeatedly by the companies greed and dishonesty. We purchased bikes to be used as multipurpose cargo platforms based upon solid front, rear and side racks that are bolted to the frame, a10 speed option, turn signals, etc.. Super73 has now chosen to withdraw these promised accessories in favor or just pushing more bikes onto the market…they even refuse to allow other manufactures to build these and other accessories or provide useful info (like wiring schematics) to their customers. Unethical companies like Super73 should be stomped out and class action sued!! Let’s only keep the good guys that favor integrity and support bikers!!

  • @super73uk

    @super73uk

    Super73 also needs mud guards that actually "work properly" - In our opinion, this is one of the biggest issues with the Super73 and has been for the last 4 years now!! Not hating, just being very honest and hope the factory read this and take action to correct the issue and improve their product with regard to mud guards. • @super73uk

    @super73uk

    2 жыл бұрын

    Take your point about the snow tyres, however, on the Super73 the issue is the stock front mud guard is made for "Looks" instead of "functionality" - As soon as you turn the handle bars there is Nothing to stop the water/mud from spraying straight up at the rider. We own a Super73 S1 bike and have fitted our own mud guards - Don't look as "pretty" as the stock mud guards but do stop 99.9% (or close) of the water/mud from the tyres splashing up onto the rider. Super73 are very aware of the issue and even refer to it in one of their videos yet after 4 years the issue has still not been resolved. The only 2 reasons we can think of are; 1. They prefer a "pretty" mud guard over a functional one. 2. They are based in California where it does not rain like it does in the UK so they don't see it as such an issue compared to us here in the UK. We must stress that we are NOT haters of the brand or bikes - We actually love them. Anybody reading this please understand we are just trying to improve the bikes for everyone who owns them. The 345's seat height makes a great difference. I've tried the super 73 and it totally ruins my back. Nevertheless, there is something super73 has achieved, that other ebike companies should think of : although their bikes can ride at high speeds, they remain street legal in riding mode 1. At that level of price, I dont want to have to chose between a fast bike or a legal bike. The speedelec limitation in europe is annoying as f*** but you still have to deal with it.

    If you have used an e-bike with dual motors and dual suspension that can climb a hill unassisted you would never look at these bikes. I would like to support them as they are made in the UK/US but they are not competitive price wise or hardware wise. The only boast NewGen and Super73 have is support which might be enough for some. If they made a quality version of the LANKELEISI X-Black Knight I'd be all over that. I'm not recommending Lankeleisi btw.

    Pfftt! Cargo and range look limited for the price. I have an early 21 gear ICE trike I'd bought 15 years ago for £800. I've brushed it off, fitted new fatter tyres, cargo rack, friction gear changers and a 1.5Kw hub powered by a 52v 17AH pack all for another £1K. It hauls my 40kg of shopping on a 20 mile round trip, and easily hits 35mph if I need a boost to get out of danger (tractors, roundabouts, Red Bull can flinging DPD drivers). Throttle control is essential for when you're being tailgated or about to be mulched by a Range Rover pulling out of a roundabout entry....sod the rules when it's about staying alive. I've cable activated drum brakes and they'll rip my tyres apart if slammed on hard. Lesson here is what another channel said...."what's the best eBike? Your favourite bike with a conversion". Horses for courses, etc.

    That’s what I’m thinking but Super73 seems to offer high top speed with throttle (when off road in UK of course!)

    At 2.40 it's got that Cafe racer vibe , have you ever seen a Cafe racer ? Also what side of the road do we drive on , you hardly spent any time looking were you were going or where you aware of what was around you like the van that was behind you when you slammed the brakes on .

    Hydraulic and cable brakes perform the same. The main difference is hydraulics feel different when you press the lever but have more maintenance. Where are the Regen brakes? They are an upgrade that require even less maintenance than either hydraulic or cable disc brakes.

    Both of these bikes are over priced and underspec if you want a 73 and live in the UK look at alibaba get yourself a fantastic deal. You might have to wait a few months though but literally half the price...

    Love the bikes but come on, chain drive...belt drive is much more reliable and for the price point, they should'nt skimp out.

    The bike is mechanically geared as well as having electronic gears, which means they wouldn't be able to fit a belt drive. While belt drives are more reliable, chain drives are easier and cheaper to replace, and are more efficient (important on a heavy bike like these ones). So there are advantages and disadvantages to both.

    Before you buy a Super73, watch this video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/Z396rM59cdytoKg.html. My bike's battery didn't last a year, and Super73's customer service was no help.

    You care too much about how you look wearing your helmet. If you crash wearing your helmet like that and hit your head it won't be pretty

    I love this bike but there is no built in GPS or alarm tracker. I would go for a Vanmoof for about £500 cheaper plus it comes with 3 year warranty.

    All these decal slappers buying frames and parts from same manufacturer in Taiwan, China and Singapore and fooling people with price mind game.🤣 most versatile frame as well as bike of this type is coast cycles in Singapore. Check it out. If you have $$$ or £££ or €€€ to spend as well as either you are DIYer or off the shelf buyer, check it out.

    Never understood why European Ebikes are just worse in every way than American Ebikes while also being way more expensive.

    Anyone who has grown up adjusting a conventional bicycle to fit (saddle to a height where your heel just reaches the pedal with an almost straight leg) will, like me, cringe at these positions. Your knees will suffer and pedalling efficiency will be rubbish. Your foot position on the pedal is that of a non cyclist too. The front edge of your helmet should be just above your eyebrows or your face will do the braking when you fall off. I’m just being picky because I could never get past the hideous gas-pipe looks of these horrors. Just another opinion from a chap who’s 74 (today!) and has yet to succumb to a powered bike. Sonder Camino ti.
