I've owned this model for 10 weeks now and critics start their test with a flat battery. Ii is called a PLUG in HYBRID, so you plug it into the mains at your house or garage to charge it. The basics are, charge it up each day and you can drive about 35 miles without burning petrol. when you do use the 2.5l engine passengers think it's still on electric mode.

Just awaiting my brand spanker to be delivered, my good old mega spec every option on it possible can't wait.

I have had mine 2 months and love it. Yes the charging plate and all settings can be changed on the touchscreen. Like the alarm message when turning off. And yes they are the quad led headlamps and I can assure you even during the day and bright sunlight you can see them on the road. The only 3 bulbs on the car is reverse, rear indicator and rear fog. Hope this helps

@@fanoscharalambous2098 I would say yes but it could end up costing more to run if you don't do the leg work and investigate whether it's a PHEV, BEV or ICE that better fits your lifestyle. For example, a sales rep who does 20k a year would not suit a PHEV in my view. Better off with a BEV.

Hi from Holland and thanks for your reviews. I have a kuga PHEV vignale since a couple of weeks doing some tests myself as well. One I cannot do here is a proper downhill driving test. My last SUV had a downhill assist/grade button and 6 gears along the automatic. None of that in my new Kuga. I trust it is ok but i cannot do a test. I'm not a caravan driver but like to tour around in the Alps every year. I am very happy with my Kuga for all other parts though. Hope you can do a test!

@@CambsEV i have the Kuga 2020 Vignale. The settings do have a grade assist option and there is an icon on the display. But i dont know how to activate the assist. Or does the kuga automatically select grade assist by sensors?

Another great video, I've got my ford kuga st line x coming in September. I was just wondering how bright and good are the led night time headlight ?

I placed my order in June when ford opened the production line again, I was estimated September but today I received a call saying the car is made and is ready to be shipped to the UK from Belgium and will arrive by the end of July.

I have had mine a few days now and I took mine out at around midnight just to test the lights. (It is amazing how light it says so late at this time of year). I am happy to report that the LED lights are absolutely brilliant, not just in intensity, but they are also brilliant white, which helps to show the road markings very well. I am very happy with them. They are the best lights I have ever had; better than my old Focus RS HID's even!

@@Titomuse do they have active shadowing? (I.e. Stay on high Beam but not in the face of oncoming traffic)

My luggage space covering is quite tight luckily; no problems with it falling, and it takes quite a tug to remove it. After a few days, I am really happy and even impressed with the car. I have found two bugs up to now :- 1. When using the sat nav, when it goes below 0.1 miles, mine will say 300 feet on the display behind the steering, and 300 yards on the head up display; the head up display being the correct one and exactly the same as the sat nav screen. 2. No album art from my music collection on my usb stick. It displayed fine on my old ST Line X I just traded in. I have told it to give priority to album covers on the stick, and have completely turned off gracenote, which I know can interfere. There doesn't even seem to be space for album art on the screen anyway on the audio page. Same with radio logos. They show on the main front page, but not on the audio page. (this is opposite from my Fiesta!) If anyone else can confirm these two bugs I will report them to Ford. They do update and fix them over the months. I did three updates to the sync system on my old Kuga, and they were all good - improvements each time.

That's good to hear about the luggage cover! How very odd about the sat nav....can't say I have noticed that, will have to keep an eye out for it. On the album art, I've managed to get it to display via USB. These are tracks I transferred from iTunes. It's not something I use, I was testing for one of the group members, maybe there is a setting in SYNC3? You get the option to have album art of not within CarPlay.

Is the ambient lighting limited to the door handles and cup holders? Seems like strange places to have ambient lighting especially if it's the only places where it exists. Very good video.

theexmann thanks for the comment! No, there is lighting in the foot wells as well as around the USB port too.

Quick question in regards to the headlights and taillights. Are your headlights the Quad Projector LED ones? if so are they good for road lighting and as for the rear how much of the rear cluster is LED? The brochure said full LED rear lights however it looks as though the indicator/reverse lights are not. Would it be possible for a night/dark time review to showcase the lights. Many thanks, Kieran

Hi, Ford has just informed me that they have suspended production of the Kuga PHEV due to battery overheating. Have you been contacted by Ford for a recall of your Kuga.

Hi Colin great video. Can I ask quick question do you use apple car play or android auto? How have you found this? Also the mobile phone wireless charging plate... Can it be turned off or does it always charge if you place you mobile on it? Thanks.

Hi Jason, yes I use Apple CarPlay. I've also recently noticed a feature within Apple CarPlay that allows you control certain aspects via Sync 3.....I'll be doing a post on that this morning within the Ford Kuga PHEV Group on Facebook, Twitter and Insta.

Hello Cambs. I guess your unit has also been affected by the european recall due to an issue with overheating parts. Please, can you explain something about that? Have you also been sugested by Ford not to charge the battery by plug-in it? Did you already take your car to the service to proceed with any campaign about this issue? Do you know what they exactly did or change in the car? I have heard some owners have already done even 4 campaigns yet without working properly. I already reserved a unit waiting to solve this problem to be able to be delivered to me. Thank you for your comments.

I'm a little surprised the ST Line X (being a more sporty version) has 225x55x19 tyres. I currently have a 2018 Titanium X and this has sportier looking 235x45x19 tyres. Other than that I can't wait to pick up my ST Line X First Edition :)

@@RiggersUK thats one hell of a pack. I have a focus vignale just now. but seems like its better to get the first edition (if there are any left) as that has it all, plus the pano roof (which the vignale doesnt have)

Sean McKlo I would have to agree although the equivalent from Audi is £55k with less range. As an owner I’m happy to overlook that issue in order to take advantage of the many other advantages the car offers or needs it meets for me. Take your point though.

Think I'll wait for the Toyota Rav4 plug in hybrid, better built, 5 year warranty, reliability is a given and should be much better value for money. I looked up the price of the Kuga Vignale Phev and the price of that is about £40k and still Ford want another thousand pounds for the sunroof, ridiculous. So any fuel savings will be wiped out and more because of the luxury car tax, shame.
