Watch the final few riveting moments of the 2012 Ironman World Championships

Спорт

( www.EverymanTri.com) The Spirit of the Ironman race is in the hearts and souls of every triathlete who tries to swim, bike and run 140.7 miles in 17 hours. But nowhere is that spirit on display as much as in the final moments of the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii. In this video our cameras capture the pain, perseverance and triumph as the clocks counts down to midnight and the final few athletes struggle to cross the finishline in 17 hours.

Inspiring! I am always super impressed with the people who finish first, but for some reason only the last people who finish the race can move me to tears.

Excellent! I finished ironman distance on 55 year two times and the best time was 14:29.57 :-) Ironman is very difficoult, but I say, in my country are much much worse races. For example www.lh24.cz, www.beskydskasedmicka.cz . So this time is due to coronavirus wrong prepare for race, I never give up!

I can't bear to watch this, I lasted 2 mins before I had to mute that greaseball commentator, and stopped altogether at 4:14. My Marathon time is 3:51, so predicted Ironman time would be 11-13 hours. I ran 500 miles in training for it and know all about endurance. However, I would rather eat a plate of cold sick than be surrounded by that bunch of first world privileged insecure narcissists - competitors, organisers, spectators, the lot. I feel sorry for the handful of truly humble athletes who do take part, lost amongst all that fakery and self congratulatory attention seeking.
