That is one wierd Xmas ad. Never saw triffids as friendly...

I love it. Reminds you that there's usual that one slightly different person in your family who always gets left out in the cold because they 'might spoil the perfect Christmas'. Thanks John Lewis for the heartwarming messages every Christmas. X

My favourite is one of the earlier ones with the little boy who can't contain his excitement for Christmas day, but turns out in the end he was more excited about giving his parents a gift than receiving one. 😢

I never knew a venue fly trap could be so charming 😍

Exciteable Edgar (2019 ad) and Give a Little Love (2020 ad) are my favourite John Lewis Christmas ads. The ones after including this one, have been a bit meh. I did, however, enjoy the groto in last year's store, it was interactive with a lot of audio inside.

It's almost as if they are embarrassed to promote a traditional Christmas. Here we have an advert that is using the family wanting to have a traditional tree as a form of oppression against the young lad who wants his 'different' tree... another in a long line of boring adverts that are forcing down our throats that being different is great and acceptable. The thing they don't understand is that we get it, we all get it. Being different and tolerant is what makes us great. But please can someone do something traditional without trying so hard to be profound.

This really illustrates why John Lewis are in trouble\ What is the advert trying to say ,If you think of Christmas you always think of venus fly traps.AWFUL

Really love this advert! Something different to break with usual tradition of cosy christmas adverts which are normally about perfect christmas settings! Shows that not every family is like that! So much love this advert!

I just saw a clip of this on my KZread before I opened it. I legit thought this was a trailer for a new Little Shop of Horrors movies.

I have a Venus fly plant. Its really beautiful. The advert is beautiful and different to their others. But you can fall in love with a plant. The plant will grow with the child and also make it their responsibility to look after it. It's educational Well done, John Lewis ❤
