As a career ICU RN of many years what the radical right has done to Dr Fouchi is just egregious. There was a time when the area where I lived was under a smallpox terrorism scare. The hospital where I worked began to put together an isolation smallpox ward. Every last one of us who would work in this unit had to be revaccinated with the smallpox vaccine. When we didn’t show up for that vaccine or any other vaccine for that matter, they came looking for us. It was our reaponsibility to be vaccinated so the hospital could keep running and we could take care of the ill. What happened during the pandemic, even with some in healthcare was horrible and the problem still exists today. Dr Fauchi like many of us in healthcare have given our whole lives to trying to save every life we could. Unfortunately we lost so many with COVID including brave individuals who lost their lives trying to save the lives of others. What has happened to our country where heros became villians? I want my old country back. We are in so much trouble. Diseases once thought gone are going to come back like a vengence because of vaccine reluctance. How many will die then?

As a ICU Nurse Working during the heights of Covid, I had not in over 30 yrs. Of Nursing feared for my life like that ever before. I’m sure that The hospital workers were not even given a second thought in 45’s mind. But still we stayed and fought to save our patients at risk to ourselves, in spite of the Maga Crazies essentially fighting against us the whole time. And had any of them come to our hospital as a patient , we would have proudly taken care of them as well. Because in the midst of Evil, I’m grateful that there will always be good people like our medical professionals still holding us down. We will not be bullied. And That’s just one of many reason why I’m proud to be an American.

Thank you for your service. In 2022, I came down with a bad case of double pneumonia and ended up in the ER with dehydration to boot. Both were doing their best to end me. I was to be admitted but surprise: all the beds were chockablock with covid patients, most of whom had not been vaccinated. Good times. Later that year I caught covid, but because I had kept up with my vaccinations, it was not severe and I was back on my feet again in a couple of weeks.

The founding fathers created a constitutional republic specifically because pure democracies had never stood the test of time. The person who sent you a quote from a "single founding father and his federalist paper" was probably trying to give a quick example of something rather complex that is supposed to be taught in American schools; it possibly isn't being taught, and/or possibly is simply not being learned by the students. That’s what I’ve been screaming to the rooftops. Apparently the MAGAs believe bad things will only happen to others not them. It happened during Trumps last reign of terror when some MAGAs married to immigrants had their spouses deported. They complained loudly… hey that wasn’t supposed to happen to me only to my neighbors. It will be the same cry and like the rest of the protesters during a possible next Trump dictatorship, all protestors will be met with bullets or prison as he promised. That will include them but it will be too late for all of us. We will say we told you so but so what, all our rights will be gone as will theirs. Guarantee Trump will blame Biden, Obama and Hillary claiming they are the ones hurting the republic in the style of Hitler blaming “the enemy” for everything he would do to us. Some will believe him, even unto death. We’re in a fight for our lives if you believe the Bannons of the world.
