If you neurotypicals spent a majority of your time reading about one single subject, you would become just as knowledgeable about said subject as an Aspie with an obsession for the subject, too. (Also, the subjects we get obsessed with need not be anything even vaguely academic or provide us with even remotely useful knowledge: Yes, some Aspies get obsessed with stuff like astrophysics or mathematics, and they can make a career out of those obsessions, but many of us get obsessed with useless stuff, like lighthouses.)

As a builder I sent an email to an older, very religious lady, that I was building a house for, reminding her to send me the paint colors for each room.... just before going to bed that night, I checked my emails, and saw she had promptly replied to my original email, so I scanned down the list of colors and saw she had forgotten about the two pantry room colors. So I did the logical thing and emailed her at around midnight that just said: “what color do you want your pantries”. Next morning I got an email from her (which she had also added her husbands email onto the email), which just said “excuse me??” .....yep, I didn’t spell pantries correct.... pretty mortifying!!!!! Easy explanation to correct, but sucked because I had to meet them at the job site first thing that morning with the painter, and explain my email through a bright red burning face. F’ing awkward!!!!!

I'm not laughing at the guy who's food slid off his plate and he started to cry. Listen. Been there. When you're having a shit day and all you wanna do is sit down and eat your dinner and you drop that nice dinner on the floor, sometimes its the last straw. I remember I had a procedure done at the hospital and I specifically asked my mom to get mac n cheese. And so when I got home and popped it into the microwave. When it was done I pulled it out and went to move it to the stove to get my fork, I dropped it all over the floor. I cried. Im not gonna lie. I sobbed. Over the mac n cheese id lost.
