Ì do not agree politically with Naz Shah. However, you have not relayed what happened correctly. An Owen Jones parody account tweeted that remark. Naz Shah liked it and re-tweeted it, and then retracted it within 10 minutes and apologised stating it was an error. I do not use Twitter X and do not know how likely it might be that she did it by mistake and had never intended to like and retweet that particular remark, or intended it to be interpreted as sarcasm which did not come across, or if she agreed with the statement and then realised that the public would be disgusted. I cannot know what was in her mind at all. She successfully sued Leave.EU for their remarks stating she had made the Tweet herself and saying she supported the statement and provided her credentials for working to help girls and women who were victims of violence, and her own story of abuse. It is reasonable to discuss what happened but it is important if we are to have honesty and integrity in our politics and debate, and act responsibly, that we give the actual details and do not misrepresent them.

Bradford by the 70s was already occupied by a large number. It settled to around 35 - 40,000 net up to the 90s. But then Blair, looking to increase his share of the vote, did even more damage between 1997 and 2010. Cameron said he'd reduce immigration but never even tried. Then along came Frau Merkel who opened the EU's borders, thus condemning us all to being swamped by economic migrants posing as refugees and asylum seekers. Johnson said he would reduce it, but never did. Now Sunak ditto.

The issue Albie is that our politics in the UK are specifically NOT meant to be sectarian (which means for a particular religion or ideology to have influence).
