Ray of Light album was huge in 1998. Frozen was the only song that could beat My Heart Will Go On in the charts lol. At least in my country. I mean MHWGO was the number one song of that year, but it was such a juggernut with the movie supporting it, that any song that came second, had to be really amazing an unique. And Frozen was, such as this song and many others from that album.

well, she always had a good vibrato, but the error she made was to always want to make some live performances sound 100% like the album CDs which nearly zero artists are capable of. Guess what? she can't, because her vocal talent is great for ballads (high and low notes, deep voice) but not that much for live performances in which she needs to move and dance (she could when she was in her 20s and was one of the rare artists doing it with this willpower), which is the case here, besides the fact that this rollercoaster song is very hard to sing. Her sincerity and her die-hard attitude taking so muck risk is just astonishing!

This was a tricky one. The shoes alone - she had to keep her balance. No effects to hide behind. So, she had to sing on key while balancing on her platform shoes without heels and controlling her diaphragm. She was not used to this AND she was nervous. She pulled it off, but not without stressing herself (and some of her hopeful fans) out. A more conventional shoe alone might have increased her performance outcome, but who can say for sure.

It should have never taken The Grammys 17 long years to recognize Madonna’s music. She should have started winning Grammys with the True Blue album. It was only the best-selling album on the planet in 1986. Hell, even “Borderline” and “Into the Groove” deserved Grammys before that. Y’all did The Queen of Pop DIRTY.
