That “cmon John” from a commentator when on the brown would usually be met with a bit of a raised eyebrow from folk. But everyone just wanted to see Higgins win one of these deciders again after losing so many in the last two years. Magical

WOW! Absolute Legend Gladiator John Higgins snatches victory from the jaws of defeat. Nerves of steel. Cool, calm & collected. Never gives up! "Are you not entertained?" John 'Maximus Decimus Meridius' Higgins (2024)

No other player in the world do you look at that potential double and think 'he's got this' like John! Unreal! Gutted for Mark but honestly, the class of 92 are a different breed.

Day 2004, O'Sullivan 2006, Williams 2010, Trump 2011, Williams again 2018, Trump again 2019 and now Allen 2024..... What is it with Higgins and these ridiculous counter clearances to win / save matches, usually including a dramatic double!!??

Not sure I would call it one of the greatest clearances in snooker history, bar a couple of shots that were self inflicted bad safety shots it was mostly a straight forward clearance (with the exception of being a deciding frame of course)

The whole point is that the amount of pressure that was riding on this clearance. He takes on a double where, if he misses, it’s match over. Imagine that pressure. Then hits an amazing shot along the cushion where other people might have just played a safety instead. Great bottle by John 👏
