They aid in dampening vehicle emissions and engine noise. They are made of steel and are coated with aluminum to provide protection from the heat and chemicals released from the exhaust system. Mufflers are used mainly to dissipate the loud sounds created by the engine's pistons and valves.

That's how it should be here most of our young ones think everything should be given to them and can't even have their own room clean 🤔🤔
I'm a retired tradesman from the piping industry. I can tell a good helper or apprentice from a poor one usually within a few minutes of working with them. This young boy in this video is a very good helper, especially at his young age. I'd love to see a kid like him get into a skilled apprenticeship program, however, unfortunately I don't think that opportunity would be available to him in the place where he lives. It's so sad to see a lot of these lazy kids with poor attitudes over here in the US and Canada get so many opportunies while an eager to learn kid over where he is gets none.

Im from the US and over here I have read a series of books called The Foxfire Books. They pretty much go into detail how the old timers did things like making wagon wheels for example. The books were made as a means of preserving how things were done in the past. I personally feel videos like this should be put in a digital archive because the knowledge they contain is so valuable.

When I lived in Asia I had an exhaust made like this for my 1978 Mercedes 280e, they took off the old original exhaust, cut open the silencers and reproduced the whole system for about $60. It was incredibly strong and heavy gauge steel.

Excellent work. That guy is really talented at forming tin.
This is amazing work. Our problem is, we can buy one of these for $50 USD. The bigger problem is, these guys with this skill set made $5 USD or less for the two hours or more it took two of them to do it. No it won’t! Dirty welds, no beads run, just tack welding. The brazing on parts that will take temperatures that exceed their tolerances, and still on rusty metal. No actual baffling. This is horrid. It could be genuinely skillful if the guy cared enough to be a craftsman. It’s like a pre worn part. Right down to shitty silver paint to make it look clean!

Parabéns aos dois profissionais aí excelente trabalho de vocês 👏👏👏👏👏👏
It was interesting to watch this fabrication start to finish. I noticed they had I pretty decent amount of inventory stacked along the walls of the shop. Watching them use basic metal working skills and turning surplus/recycled base standard sheet metal and piping into a finished muffler using an old hand sheer, hand rollers, hand punches, a couple of hammers, a pipe cutter, some home made patterns and molding patterns and jigs made out of steel plate and pipes and a gas welding torch. And they produced a good serviceable muffler. I don’t think many people will be fooled by the final muffler with the crushed lap scene at the end. Their actual hand painted muffler being carried by the helper was the one to see. They put together a good solid muffler. And it will probably give a good long service life if used every day. My only question is the small restrictive baffle passage holes will result in quite a bit of back pressure and reduce exhaust flow, thus robbing the engine of some of its power output.
Genius - humans with perseverance and skill.
wish my kids were like his son, no whining just spending quality time with dad working

I grew up doing that same thing in the 70s cause I couldn't afford to buy exhaust. I used 2 or 3 inch galvanized fence post for tail pipes and I made round or square mufflers at a friend's body shop or my dad's when he wasn't doing anything to people's cars. Otherwise I ran open headers cause the police never said anything until the late late 70s into the 80s lol. I'd almost bet that one of the buildings that used to be a auto repair shop probably still has my hand made exhaust in it cause I used the same exhaust on different car's cause I'd find a Chevy body that I liked and away I'd go putn em together and be cruising in no less than 4hours lookn for something to drag it's ass through a 8th or quarter mile road. I miss the good ol days when everything was to simple. I could rebuild and start the break in process with a Chevy engine in less 3 hours. By myself with no distractions. 2 hours tops and it blesses my heart watchn this guy make his own stuff....
