It’s not often a watch that costs as much as a house ends up in your hands. For the Patek Philippe 5270, a high-complication piece from one of the oldest and most famous watchmakers on the planet, it’s an experience very few will get to enjoy. Here’s what it’s like.

Loved your very last sentence .... "Using it just to read the time, without appreciating everything else about it, is a bit like using the Mona Lisa to cover a stain on the wall." Well said 😊

Very true, that's an excellent punch line I also picked up. These guys are even better writers than watchmakers and when we see how much knowledge is displayed on watchmaking, this is rather quite a talent.
Believe me you don’t need to use such titles for these videos. These kinds of catchy and trendy titles other KZreadrs use to play with the algorithm drive me crazy. I don’t want these titles to change as well! It’s extremely undeserving for a channel of this high quality; just let natural viewers come. Great video either way.

A. B. You have a point that it could possibly expand the hobby or attract more enthusiasts, but I don’t believe a bothersome and trendy title change is the best way to do it in regard to nearly all accounts. It’s also so cheap to boil down this video or any other great video he’s made to, “Watch expert reacts to...” just like some of those irritating KZreadrs. I believe I also saw this point on another comment, but these kinds of titles don’t seem to fit the sophisticated level of the content. It feels very out of place.

@@edd2771 well I do think it was an attempt to get younger people into the hobby, and I can see where they got their ideas from, because I'm 16, and I'm used to get asked "why do you where a watch? They're so pointless!" A shame really, so I don't think it's as bad as some others make it out to be!

This channel, together with xkcd, is one of only two sources on the entire internet that absolutely baffle me by their ability to make consistently excellent content in an unbroken and unrelenting stream for weeks, months, and years without even a shred of variance. I don't understand how you haven't run out of award-worthy content at this point, but thank you to everyone involved, and keep up the absolutely fantastic work!
I have been watching this channel for a few years now, and I just love seeing all these watches that I could never afford to buy. Keep up the good work on sharing these watches for us that can not afford them, so we can enjoy them too.
What a superlative piece of art! Took my breath away. Gorgeous video. Thank you for making it.

This is pure art , no one needs a mechanical watch anymore but to look at the movement in a watch like this is its own reward , it's fine art that happens to be a watch .
Not quite the Casio F-91W review I asked for, is it?!
Even though the title is tacky, the quality of the video has surpasses their own standard. Kudos
This is a piece of art. If I might own such a piece I would spend my time watching the perfection of each part.
Absolutely stunning. That watch is stunning. That movment is beautiful and absolutely mindblowing to me. So many different types of of movements and the calendar is staggering.
i never grew tired of listening to your voice over, its truly unadulterated joy so earorgasmic in nature

Such a masterpiece i was wondering how many people will say in a hundred years would actually lay eyes on this masterpiece or any masterpiece ..i will say not very many..
This watch is a master piece . Can't wrap my head around how those mechanical components can archive all that. Respect to the brand !
I love that the day date apertures are consistent with the rest of the dial, meaning they're black with contrasting white numbers/letters
I think you've already done a video on the 5270R iirc, but no problem watching it all over again😍😍
I like the analogy of the watch being like a painting not just a tool to tell time
Beautiful Time Piece!! Excellent Attention to Details!! The engineering involved with the complications - I’m in awe of of the build quality and how the Watchmakers assemble and build such a Gorgeous Accurate Mechanical Time Piece. Plus, each Time Piece is Perfect!! .
As usual a pleasure to watch your video. Thank you

hi, what is the small date window for? and the little whte window? thanks..
Thank you for all these great vids
I need one of these, and all the trimmings behind wearing that kind of watch might be nice. For a change I can believe in.
Probably the best video of Watchfinder I've seen 🙏
I am a wrench monkey. I turn wrenches and repair broken machines in my factory. I was under a car with my dad when I was 6. My mom was furious when I would come into the house covered in grease, oil, dirt, bleeding from half a dozen scratches and a grin. The more complicated the machine the better. So naturally watches of this caliber are the pinnacle of my love. Changing the starter on a Caterpillar bulldozer is one thing. Assembling parts you have to have a 12x loupe just to even see is on a whole other level. Like a high school football player in the Super Bowl. Just the best of the best. Liked and subbed.
Nice video as usual. Would you mind presenting the 5235G from Patek ounce? Such an understated watch
Pure joy of mind and eye....thank you
This is interesting-I am very appreciative of this particular Patek, and the macro hasn’t revealed any flaws-impressive.

What a magnificent piece.
Awesome video, thank you.
Great presentation and a great watch. Thank you :-).
I love the bracelet and case. An incredible piece
How is it different than 5270G 001? Other than the external materials used.
My favourite watch from Patek!
I love the camera work on the skeleton mechanism ..any chance of some slo motion gyroscopic tourbillion action? That would be something ...big up the show.
Brilliant review.
You honor a artistic watch like this with your monologue.
It's beautiful. Great review.
This watch is just an object of desire. The bracelet is gorgeous
One of the most beautiful watches in the market
You knock it out of the park every time.
Awesome macro views - I love it - also an awesome watch
I think it would be great it you featured Christopher Ward's single pusher chronograph compared to some of its older and more expensive swiss counterparts. Either the C900 or theC9 ME 109.
I clapped my hands when the video ended
Nice... Reeeealy nice! Maybe missing automatic mechanism... Indicator for spring tension... Some fully jevel gears...
Was the Supercomplication not made in the late 20's/early 30's? Love these videos :-)
Love this one
Beautiful, but equally scary. Thanks for the review.
The video title is a joke people!!! Those decrying it as a clickbait title pandering to the great unwashed clearly haven't been fans for a long time of the channel. Sharp witty wordplay is the hallmark of this dude, and a major reason for the channel's success. There are plenty of watch experts out there, but no one else with such humor and class and a nod to both history and pop culture. I mean c'mon - a few months ago he started his video with "Thissss is..." a clever reference for car geeks who follow Doug DeMuro's car channel.
I Iove watches,l don't know why, but I do! I own 2 watches, one cost me 9 dollars, it's digital and solar powered, the other one was 60 dollars, it's a casio electric but with hands, which is nicer than digital.l don't have much money, but I am so happy with them, ty for your comments on the Patek- Philip. It's a work of art,a real chef-d'œuvre,merci!
Final reification, watch is not for telling time, but is sculpture. I love sculpture.
It is a beautiful watch, but I would trade a couple features for an automatic movement so I don’t have to wind it every few days. Then I would not have to start resetting all the functions if it winds to a stop.
This is not a watch. It's a Masterpiece.

i remember a couple years ago, a 5711 steel went up to the price of this. Now, this is still worth $200k, but the 5711 down to 100k. That is because this watch ain't about hype. It's pure horology and the intrinsic value is the quality of the watch cannot be taken away.
IT WOULD BE A MIRACLE!

whats with that line ( smudge ) over geneve?
Is that a mark I see above the 'n' in Geneve? 1:38
The two hour markers at the 12 are not even. It would drive me crazy.
I had a beautiful accurist back in 1998. I know its just an accurist.. Battery but it was incredible. 4 buttons and it had data chromo.. Everything.. And it was all automated with buttons... No crown. Beautiful blue sunshine face... Ogld and steel strap. It was the business. Ahead of its time... Never seen anything like it since
I like the Mona Lisa comment at the end 😎
I own this watch in Platinum, it's amazing.
Finally learned the art of the catchy title have we? :D
To my knowledge, the crown was invented by Antoine-Louis Breguet in 1830. "On 30 December 1830, Breguet sold to Comte Charles de L'Espine watch no. 4952, equipped with a knurled button in the pendant which fulfilled two functions: setting the hands and rewinding the watch."
The 5270G is my grail watch... I'll settle for a collection that has either a white 116500ln or grey 116519ln and a 5119G :)
What a glorious machine .
