Current calculated yearly salary of the podcast: $48,921.27. If the podcast was someone working a 40 hour week every week it would be making $23.52 per hour. That also translates to $5.58 of passive income every hour! Fun fact $34,714 is the exact same figure that was said last week in the Grant Navarre episode.

@@TheIcedCoffeeHour Jack Google or Yahoo Submariner, and see what comes up, I found out that Submariner is a divers watch, glows in the dark, and to show your what I don't know about watches, the watch is part of the Rolex family and it gives you pricing as well. Unlikely colab between two of my favorite youtubers. I'm tuning in!
I started my watch journey back in 1968 when I graduated from arguably, the most difficult training the military has to offer . I was newly minted and part of my training was combat diving . We were issued a Tudor sub . I thought it was cool but didn't really know what I had . Jump forward about 10 months and I was in Vietnam. I ended up I buying a 5513 sub at the main PX in Da Nang for $240 . After I got home , I was hooked . I've been collecting ever since but still have my original issue Tudor as well as the 5513 . Great podcast. Thanx

Haha all of your guests so far have happily been transparent about how much they make, ad rev, etc. It should be called the iced water hour because of how transparent the show is. It literally starts each episode with how much money has been made so far. BUT leave it to a watch-related guest to not talk financials at all. The only numbers watch dealers will talk about is how much they will sell a watch to you for. No diss here, really enjoyed the interview! It's just funny to watch from the inside out. The smoke and mirrors and obscurity of the watch industry never ceases, even on a podcast that is supposed to be about transparency and financials lol.

I think the standards for spending is way to high for some people, a submariner might not be the absolute greatest possible choice with money but I think that’s okay, sometimes you have to live a little, especially when the worst case scenario is breaking even. In return for compromising you get to have a Watch you can wear and enjoy for the rest of your life. As far as I’m concerned there is no perfect way to spend money so everyone loosen up a little bit lol

I have been buying Rolex since 2000. Every Rolex I have had gained value. I could sell it in the desert if I had to. Have never lost a cent. Cannot say the same for ETF or stock. Yes, I understand the principle behind long term growth. Plus, get to make my day everyday the last 20 years wearing them. Jack, get the Submariner if you don’t connect with it after a while you could sell it. Most likely for a profit. Great content today!

@@kosar193 know nothing about watches. What I learned is good watches that are worth the money will drop 70-80% in value if buying new. lol If buying used can get scammed if not a watch expert. Rolex will hold/gain value but are mass-produced and aren't worth the money people pay for them. Asset value is determined not by something tangible but what people might be willing to pay for it. Which is determined by how clever certain watch marketing is. Since 2000 even with dotcom bubble collapse and 2008 financial crisis/real estate collapse your basic index fund or ETFs have just about tripled investors money. This doesn't factor paid out dividends or the fact that 2000 would have been one of worst times to invest in markets in last few decades. Watch collecting seems better fit as a hobby than investing as it's a non-producing asset and in most cases a depreciating asset(words of watch expert in this video).

Jack - even if you don’t “loose” money on the watch, you’ll miss the opportunity of earning a capital gain. I got the vibe that you were still in the accumulation phase of your life so looking for things that just hold their value instead of growing exponentially is just weird. Buy equity. If you’ve at least maxed out your tax advantages accounts (IRA, HSA, 401k) then OK. The graham deal makes more sense.
