@@z-chan946 but you _can_ do it and it changes absolutely nothing in the story, they even have a whole arsenal at their spaces. For Marcus and Deadsec, via ludonarrative dissonance killing is fine. The only thing keeping Marcus apart from Nathan Drake is a cinematic saying killing is wrong because the whole game is set as if he was ok with it. Ah, I got forgot: blowing up that facility with the spider tank with everybody still inside _might_ not be non-lethal

Thank you for the insightful review! I'm sure someone else has mentioned it by now but - considering you play as a hacker - the buffed stealth in WD2 was probably the biggest detail to me. I'm no hacker, but i figure if i had to do a physical exploit at a well guarded facility: i wouldn't go in fast balling grenades at security guards.

I just love the R3-mode, because in the first game when it was night and you had to do a stealth mission on some island it was very hard to see where you have to walk and where the others were walking.

So, Ubisoft finally can make a title without a massive downgrade or false advertising? I consider this a huge step forward.

From my perspective it was all about not revealing things way too early. The first footage of the game I saw was this year and it is released this year, The Division and WD1 were "revealed" years before release.

IMHO, Ubisoft is currently doing great. They learned from mistakes and cured their own cancer through repairing all those mistakes. For Honor, AC Empire, Watch Dogs 2, just the fact that they did a (sort of) second Blood Dragon. It's all good now. I simply... Forgive them for everything.

ariel sharpe Lol, I feel relief emanating from your comment. I guess they are doing okay, but I still hate their multiple versions of each game and dunno if I'll be playing their stuff anytime soon. Also, at this point they might still be about size of the game over content. AC Empire might be the most interesting AC news since AC4, looking forward to know more about that. Ubi's marketing team always felt like they weren't in line with the game devs, just that they wanted to do a good job, often overdoing it, lol. Them trailers tho.

Literary Landslide Ubi's marketing team learned too, though. They stopped with those cringeworthy "festivals" with dumb "parkour" courses and such and they started doing actually good trailers like the one released a few weeks ago for WD2 (The one with the destroyed fourth wall). And yes, I am relieved. Back in the AC2 times they were my favourite game company, believe it or not. Also, random thing you may have not heard: AC Empire will have the size of AC4, including the water, although now the water is of course land as well.

Well, I dont live there, but I took a trip to Cali about two months ago, and I went to the Bridge and travelled through the bay area. It looks very realistic, especially with the homes. The streets look the same as well.

i'm still undecided by the lack of minigames, I have the first Watch_Dogs and it has Poker, the VRmini-games, the drinking game, chess and many other activities like the criminal convoys or the crimes around the city. I really liked hacking the train and use it to escape, too; can you do it on Watch Dogs 2? I know there isnt anything of these things on the second so I wouldnt buy it even if it is a new story and improved hacking with new things like the RC Drones...may someone try and convince me?

It's honestly strange how the sequel is so different (in terms of the general vibe u get from the game). U liking WD2 depends on what u liked about WD1. Like I said, me personally, didn't have a problem with the differences... I enjoyed them as separate games.

I just finished playing the 3hr gameplay trial and the game was super enjoyable to me. I didn’t understand some parts of it, and struggled figuring out how to work all of the hacking components, but I do plan on buying the full game and continuing where I left off!

I love the first game. Aiden is one of my favourite characters in gaming. The story was captivating. The characters were well written and engaging. The setting was unique. I just wish there were some side plots.

To think that I almost didn't get Watch Dogs 2 because of this review.... I am SO GLAD I went ahead and bought it! SO WORTH IT! It really feels like an open world, the game doesn't rush you to progress in the story. So I'm taking my dear sweet time and couldn't be happier. I've done barely two missions in over 30 hours of game time yet I'm am thoroughly enjoying it! Just upgrading my skills. So yeah guys, if you liked GTA V and wished you could fly a drone in it... BUY THIS!

I actually don't *sound* like anything to you, since you're reading. I believe you're trying to say that I *seem* like... yadda yadda. But OK, English isn't your strong point. Furthermore, I don't over-exaggerate. I'm excited over this release, I think it's a FANTASTIC game that fits my game style perfectly. You interpret that in whatever way you want, but do not call me a liar, douchebag. I don't play games for their textures. Familiar? Sure, same company, same franchise... you expected something more like Final Fantasy? You don't see any new features, yet immediately mention *new hacking options*... OK. Again with that word... "familiar" _You say that you want a totally different game? Here's a suggestion_ BUY A DIFFERENT GAME. I've never found WD1's gameplay to be broken, it works fine on my system. Yes Ubisoft, a company I admire, I own nearly every title they've published. Maybe you should go elsewhere to find a different company publishing a different game.

5:33 I havent played WD2 yet but one aspects i notice compared to the first game from what i see is that you can now select what type of pants, shirt you want. But in the first-time, Aiden could only select one outfit in beticular and that was it.

This game doesn't look bad. Still waiting for a splinter cell game

i liked the pipe puzzles, one of my favorite aspects.

I know I'm really late to this, but why is it that like the only two triple AAA games that revolve around hacking in the story have connection problems with the multiplayer? I can still taste the irony, even now.

4:37 I had envisioned Marcus’s as having at least some background in the military, most likely as a technical expert due to his computer skills, since much of his past is unknown. That would explain his a lot of his combative skill, unless of course he was just taught how to fight really well.

The real question for me is... Can you destroy the bridge? A game/movie set in san francisco does not feel right without the bridge being destroyed.

No, you can't. Since it's based on a real bridge, and a very iconic one, it's sometimes risky because even in video games, cities take that stuff seriously and can get offensive. Twisted Metal went through some legal Hell for their iconic chaos.

I just got Watchdogs 2 yesterday (yeah I know I'm late) after having Watchdogs 1 for years. I loved the story of the first one. But I love how Watchdogs 2 has more to do.

I've been experimenting with playing games a certain way lately, and this one definitely fits that. For those of you that have an issue with the actions of the character in the gameplay not matching how they're supposed to be in the story, try really playing like a hacker. Don't use guns, and try to avoid even going near enemies if possible. Think of how Marcus would handle the situation, and try adapting your playstyle to fit that. It's a lot of fun.

Did they fix the pop-in? I stopped playing the 1st one on 360 cuz everytime I tried to drive a little fast a car or something would pop in front and crash me.

At least it wasn't downgraded or heavily changed this time (maybe on few stuffs but still it looks good). The only problem is the raining, it causes the lagg in some part of the areas.

Thom Eerdman no it has not dude. Even when they showed it at E3 everyone was saying that the streets and sidewalks looked empty. Stop talking out of your ass. Even in the release build you'll see NPC's doing various activities and you can even see dogs either playing with each other, fighting, or humping each other. LITERALLY. Don't go spreading false information.

idevicerhelper learn the difference between absence of story and poor fleshing out and implementation of story. When you grow up a bit you'll understand that story elements just being there are not enough to actually make something clever and well written

Jack Waterhouse dude it's very well explained that they're whole plan is to take down Blume. He's saying that it feels like they have no goal even though the goal is very clearly shown. Based on what he said in the video, it has nothing to do with how cleverly the story was written and put together. He may feel that way because they like to have fun while doing it but I don't see how that stopped GTAV. They have a bunch of whacky fun moments while robbing banks and infiltrating fucking C.I.A blacksites or whatever the fuck it was. Nobody ever said they were aimless though.

Sophisticated Diglett Yea can't do that keep getting distracted by side quests.But he never talks outside of dialogue.

Even though I’m in 2019, and I have the game, I actually really like it. I got it as a gift last year for my grading performance and I love the game. Yes there are some problems and sometimes I feel like I don’t know what I’m doing, but overall the game is honestly really good for a beginner gamer.

Currently has a 70% discount on the PS store for like $20. I tried the 3 hour demo, the map was really enjoyable to explore but wasn’t a huge fan of the control scheme (mainly being used to other games controls). Still undecided as to whether I should purchase it while it’s on sale for the next month or so.

I had Watch_Dogs for PC and loved it. Ok some seems to have problems with the game and the hacking features were limited. But all in all it was fun to play and after i disabled the Cloud savegame transfer, i never had crashed saves again. I will buy it cause its Watch_Dogs and San Francisco isn't often used as location for games. So i hope it will be fun to explore.

Guerrilla Warfare Not in all details, cause i have a dark red tie ;) @ All I am from Germany and would love to visit America again at my holidays. But i don't get a visa at the consulate the last 5 years without any reason. I have no entries at my police record. I never got a ticket for my driving etc since i've got my license. And based on the fact Trump become president, we never will get a visa again. So the only way i can see your great major cities is via KZread or Games and just can hope that the creators have been detailed enough to take the atmosphere to us. The last time i was in San Francisco in a game was GTA SA and Driver. And that was not detailed enough to get the real impression. No wait, the last time i was there was in The Crew and American Truck Simulator. But this is not better. So thanks for listening and have a nice day.

Really confused. you say that character development was an issue in WD1 and Ubisoft tried to fix that. Then you say you don't really find out much about the character you play. Seems kinda contradictory.

*****​ Yeah but he mentions that near the beginning and then mentions the other bit towards the end. If he have said they tried to improve it but failed or something like that I wouldn't call it contradictory but the space between the two makes me think it was just bad writing at gameranx.

Honestly, I miss the mini games from the first one (shell game, psychedelic trips, drinking game, etc.) because they are more fun than the second’s mini games (drone race, etc.) . I also believe the story in the original was a lot more engaging and intriguing then the second even though the second is not as repetitive. Thirdly, I believe the multiplayer was more fun in the original than the second (aside from the multiplayer side missions like off the hook). That’s where it stops for the first one’s pros for me. I’m neutral on which setting I prefer better. There’s a lot of customization better in the second. Also, the skills were more unique and better in the second than the original. And I like the follower system in the second. Overall, I think the second was missing some things and was a fail on trying to make a more complete game than the first. In other words, I enjoyed the first game better, but that’s just my opinion.

i just finished this game recently, and i found it was amazing game and really fun to play, i don't know why there's so much hate in this masterpiece and i know i'm late to play n finish it off :D but, better late than never. can't wait for the next series (hopefully they're not creating a garbage futuristic theme into the next watchdogs)

Raging Pirate its boring AF, there's nothing interesting going on ever. The characters try so hard to be hip and trendy, the dialogue is so fucking cringe, I mean wtf talks like that? Gameplay wise, driving is so safe and arcadey its non-engaging and boring, stealth is plain, really plain, you have wallhacks which make it super easy, the shooting is alright but worse than WD 1, the graphics are mediocre, I played it on the PC at the maximum settings and it looks worse than GTA V on medium.

I loved aiden. Sure he could have had more quips and depth but he suited the slow, calm and collected playstyle that worked well with the game and had a violent streak that meant going loud didn't break character. Wd2 characters plain sucked. Marcus was ok but it was too adolescent for me. Looking forward to a more serious tone in legion. Or hoping at least

I loved Aiden as well. WD1 had a great story and campaign, basically Falling Down with hacking, but WD2 was a massive improvement in hacking, giving you a better sandbox. I love both of them to bits for different reasons.

Honestly I really liked the first Watch Dogs. If anything I was a little disappointed by the ending. I'm definitely looking forward to getting Watch Dogs 2.

I love this game and its stealth mechanics. I actually haven't shot a single NPC in my whole 16 hours of playtime because the stealth system is so much more fun. I actually still like the puzzles, they're not really challenging but they fit well, the way you can interact with the environment really makes the game unique and the game is full of refrences and really suits our modern life in some elements. My main complaint is how arcady the driving is... Can't they make car physics and handling more realistic? I mean mafia2 and gta IV did it great and everyone loved it. Maybe not make it as realistic as in IV or mafia but at least so it won't fill so arcady. They even made the sailboat with realistic wind physics but they can't put a bit of effort into cars?

2 years late but I just finished watch dogs 1 and I loved it. I'll be getting the platinum before moving on to this one

The first one has a really good story. Is much deeper, and you can play poker and chess

With the season pass edition, or just by buying the DLC's, you can become a cop, paramedic, or a firefighter. Emotes included ;) Oh! and you can ride trolleys.

I like watchdogs 2 because u can see other people in the world without being online it’s an awesome game

I actually liked the first game very much, I loves Chicago so much and love the urban setting and it was really beautifully made and ofcourse the hacking thing was the first of its kind. I must say thought i enjoy watch dogs 2 more becuase of the added stuff like drones, the gang territoies, the story, the city itself is huge and the freeruning and all that. I enjoyed both games very much

Watchdogs was a game I just found in my steam library one day, played and loved. A ton of people hate on it and I'm trying to see if the sequel is any better

I think watch dogs 2 is an amazing game some people don't understand how hard it is to make an game and if they set their expectations too high they are not going to have as much fun

But since this was made by a big company like Ubisoft, a company that has millions of dollars to invest in whatever triple A game they want and hundreds of people to work on these games, I don't think this argument works, at all.

I agree watchdogs one had much more of a direction with the story watch dogs two I seem to be confused on what my purposes is not necessarily a bad game though

Do you think i should get this or fallout 4 for a game that lasts longer, im leaning to fallout 4 cause of mods on xbox, not getting 76 cause its just bad.

I've played the first watch dogs 13 times already and it's my favorite game of all time, I haven't played the second yet and I just hated right when I heard aiden pierce was gone because he's my fav vidgame character so that's basically what I think so far so I'm gonna try it out I guess but I'm glad t bone is back

Are there fire guns or only stun gun??

I'll say that the driving feels more grounded than in the first game. Turning is much more responsive, and it feels like your tires are doing their damndest to actually grip the road. I slid out of control fewer times in WD2.
