So they want to have a marriage exactly as they planned. Even if her parents spend the money it's for her. If her parents are paying for lehenga they will only buy what she wants not something the salesperson gives them.

marriage stands for matrimonial arrangement. which means for women . men don't gain anything from this. men in return has to take care of wife for life. dowry is given as gift for this. remember women need marriage not men.
