I experienced a visible, tangible miracle through Confession. God knows us and He knows what we need. Never be afraid. Jesus loved the Father and us enough to die for us. The Father loved us enough to sacrifice His Son. Confession was not instituted to hurt us. Ask the Holy Spirit for guidance.

@CatholicDefender-bp7myYes, that's exactly what I do, write things down, because it's so easy to forget, but I always make sure I say for those sins and all the sins I have committed that I can't remember, I am truly sorry. But always confess the worst that you remember, because if you knowingly omit them Jesus won't forgive because the Priest is not a mind reader.

I wish I could find the priest who is the best for me to confess to. I need to discuss and confess, but that's not confession. We are all different and we can be discouraged if not acceptable to the situation, and are told not to keep confessing sins of the past, but we know God has forgiven but we need to be able to finish what we need to say, that doesn't always happen and you go away feeling you still need to confess, it may be scruples, but we still need guidance through these difficulties

  • @bljames81

Some insight/understanding would be greatly appreciated. What if you sinned deliberately after receiving the Truth where you fell under God’s wrath, punishment takes place where you’re given over to your sin and/or the workings of evil people (Romans 1:24-28, Matthew 5:13) and no sacrifice is left (Hebrews 10:26). How could confession be applicable to such a person or what hope could one possibly have through the parable of the Prodigal Son? In other words, the result of losing your Salvation and sense of connection to Christ (while still alive) occurs due to deliberate sin. Under such a spiritual death/condition, how is God’s infinite mercy still available to such a person/sinner in it’s infinitude? You always hear that Jesus Christ will forgive all sin (except blasphemy of the Holy Spirit) but then those verses I shared seem to suggest the opposite…how can one be forgiven through repentance if they fall under those verses and/or God’s Wrath (Divine Justice for deliberate sin with no sacrifice left)?

I like to start off with the small sins and then build up to the big sins. The build up has a dramatic effect and really shows how much of a sinner I am. A lot of times I have to say "I'm not done yet." I say to the priest sometimes, Father I have to warn you. I sin a lot. One time a priest said to me, sin is choosing not to do good. Then Father, I said, I should never leave this confessional because I always always chose what's in my best interest, which most of the time is bad for others but good for me. It's the American way.

We all sin, but if we are truly sorry, we have to make the decision for actually change ourselves and decide no matter what, to live for God completely. We have to live His Commandments, Church, Sacraments, Doctrine and Teaching. The evil one tries really hard to get us to abandon our efforts, but fight back and stand with our God. You are one of His warriors. CATHOLICS ARE BORN FOR COMBAT! I am a SOLDIER of CHRIST THE KING, under the command of ARCHANGEL MICHAEL, protected by the QUEEN OF HEAVEN. The SCAPULAR is my dog tag. I went to a confession after 15-16 years a couple of months ago. The priest was having a dialogue with me instead of a one-way confession. The priest was like a good dad/big brother who gave me suggestions. Then I did a couple of confessions, but I noticed the other priest did not give me any feedback, it went from contrition to absolution. So I am not sure which one is better.

@CatholicDefender-bp7my No you have another gospel, Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum *We have such an high priest who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens* A minister of *the sanctuary* and of the true tabernacle, *which the Lord pitched and not man* For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer. (His life; "no greater love"...) For if he were on earth, he should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests [Levitical] that offer gifts according to the law: Who serve unto the example and *shadow* of *heavenly things* as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make *the tabernacle* for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to *the pattern* shewed to thee in the mount. But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also *he* is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises. *For if that first covenant had been faultless then should no place have been sought for the second* For *finding fault with them* he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord. For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; *I will put my laws into their mind and write them in their hearts* and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: {Hebrews 8:1-10} (Jer 31:31-33)

@CatholicDefender-bp7my Thy way, O God, is in thy sanctuary, who is so great a God as our God? {Psalm77:13} ...as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith God, that thou make all things according to *the pattern* shewed to thee in the mount. {Hebrews 8:5} The *sanctuary* [tabernacle] was a pattern of types and shadows of the heavenly temple, and Jesus Christ is the substance of those types and shadows. He is the door to the sanctuary; Jesus is the door to the Kingdom of heaven. He is the inner court surrounded by white linen; which is symbolic of being covered Christ prefect righteousness. He is our passover sacrificed for us on burnt alter for sacrifice. He is the laver for washing; symbolic of the rebirth, being born again of the Spirit. He is the table of Showbread; the two stacks of loves of bread are symbolic of the word of God (the bread of life) in two testaments / witnesses, also the twelve tribes of Israel and the twelve Apostles. He is the Lampstand; the oil being symbolic of his Spirit; the Lampstand symbolic of his light unto the world. He is our Altar of incense; making intercession for his saints. He is our Mercy seat covering the Ark of the covenant; Jesus is both our advocate standing for his saints with the Father and He is our judge in judment. Jesus Christ caused the sacrifices and their oblations to cease, (Dan 9:27) by his one perfect sacrifice. In contrast to the time of the Gentiles, wherefore the sanctuary of God is trodden under foot for forty and two months. How so? This church who calls herself the mother church, claims to be *the door* to salvation. And the white linen surrounding the inner court is the righteousness of Mary and the saints of the Roman church. She claims that Christ sacrifice and Atonement for sin was not sufficient, for she instituted seven (works) sacraments. She through infant baptism makes a mockery of the rebirth of the new man. Her Catechism thinks to replace the inspired word of God. Her prayers to dead saints and to Mary, thinks to replace Christ work of intercession at the altar of incense. Hers is a false spirit which thinks to cover the light of truth. This beast and her king think to change times and laws of God. And goeth into perdition.

Jesus Christ himself established the sacrament of confession with His Apostles, The new priests for God's new covenant. Jonh 19:20 He breathed on His Apostles head and said, the sins you forgive shall be forgiven the ones you retain shall be retained. We go to God, the way God established. Not by ignoring it and say we go straight to Jesus.
