A simple google search will tell you that the Philippines was granted independence in 46’ after a decade of being an autonomous commonwealth starting in 1935. The Torrance Land Title and Treaty of Paris are henceforth moot. Don’t be ignorant, educate yourself.

The threat of war to our country(The Philippines) is real whether people agree or disagree. The subtle invasion on our sovereign rights by China is a fact and our fisherfolks are enduring their abuses time and time again. The conflict between The Philippines and China should be a concern to everybody in the region as it is a looming disaster that everyone should make efforts to impede. What ever happens in this region has an insurmountable consequences to the gobal stability, trade and food security. We Filipinos have no use for war, as a matter of fact no decent being will ever benefit from war. Our country has been in countless of battles, even within our own soil - fighting against our own flesh and blood. And we have seen violence and death itself. We do not desire any innocent life or any country to experience such senseless violence. We Filipinos wish to protect what we can while we can through peaceful resolutions. The Philippines is not a perfect country as it deals with tons of political and social issues and injustices like any other countries do. We do not wish for anyone uninvolved to be intertwined with this conflict but that is the reality as our countries are intertwined by our peoples, geography, culture and trade. We are not a superpower, we cannot fight China on our own and so we turn to our allies for a much needed support and assistance. And we sincerely appreciate any amount of help we receive from our allies. The Philippines, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan are unfortunate victims of geography. We are at the frontlines. If one of us fail to resist the modern colonialism of china, who knows when will China come for your country and resources. We Filipinos are peace loving people but we cannot turn our backs to the call of our motherland either we stand with our allies or we stand alone.

You said you will not allow any attempt by any foreign power to take even one inch of Philippine territory and yet on your proposal of cha cha, you are willing to sell the Philippines to foreigner to 100% own it. Furthermore, 100 percent foreign ownership of land may also further drive the displacement and ejection of farmers and indigenous people. Land agents will rush into land grabbing, coercive land purchases, land banking, and land selling. This implies a broader displacement of farmers and indigenous people, imposition of higher land rents, further losses for farmers, cessation of farming activities, land conversion, and the dissolution of agricultural livelihoods. the proposed Charter Change will end jeopardizing food security and livelihood for Filipinos, leading to widespread hunger, loss of livelihoods, and increased poverty. Likewise it is much easier for Chinese Communist to get the Philippines without going into war by just buying the Philippines and since it is 100% ownership they can do whatever they want to do with it including laying you off and replace you with chinese worker. So stop cha cha because it only meant to oppress people more.
