Watch again: Boris Johnson faces Keir Starmer at PMQs as threat of no-confidence vote looms

Boris Johnson has faced what could be his toughest session of PMQs to date, as pressure continues to mount over the Downing Street party scandal.
The prime minister could soon be facing a leadership challenge, with a number of Tory backbenchers said to be turning against him.
While the number of letters calling for a vote of no confidence submitted will remain secret, it's suggested the threshold of 54 could be met as early as this week.
Labour Leader Sir Keir Starmer capitalised on the Tory unrest to give Mr Johnson an uncomfortable afternoon.

If you look beyond the immediate though, this clique can be seen to have been working against the interests of the British people for decades. The fact that most people haven't seen through the establishment charade that is the "covid crises" just shows how far we have to go as a society to get to grips with real governance

@@bobbyscombover People are so tribal they want to look for differences between their team and all the others. There is far more similarities though; whether you look at the personal behaviour of individual MPs such as those MPs frogmarched into the courts recently, or their collective failures - the Iraq war, the failure to get to grips with the NHS or the housing crisis over decades, the disconnect between the people and the political establishment over Europe and the inability of any of them to control our borders. One and all are a disgrace.

While Ian Blackford rightly points out & mourns the Covid deaths of over 150,000 killed in the UK, the Crettin that claims to be PM, sits there laughing, laughing with contempt at the British Public & the deaths of 150,000 people. He & anyone & everyone in that Tory clown cabinet & Government that support him in any way are disgusting & way beyond contempt, with less moral integrity than something scraped off the bottom of a shoe on the pavement. However if you feel he handled it well that's fine, but it looked to me that he was relying on "the science" and did whatever the USA told us to do. Right down to sending old people back to the care homes! He passed the buck whenever he couldn't answer the questions at the beginning, and that's why 2 people were recognised and knighted for their contribution to the pandemic and rightly so. I haven't heard anyone (apart from you) praising Bozza and his band of randy merry men on the way they took control of the situation and got the country to where we are now. We, the British public / the NHS got ourselves here, eventually without (some) of them.

It would seem that the Police have a distaste for the law, also. They turn a blind eye to this flagrant law breaking - and you can be certain that Commissioner Dick knew all about it - while merrily fining people who are walking through the park. Not to mention aggressively putting women in handcuffs for breaking covid rules, as they protest about a Met police officer raping and murdering a woman. Policing in this country is done by consent. It requires public trust for it to function. Trust needs integrity at all levels, among officers. The Police, once again, have compromised that trust.

At that point, Cressida Dick knew about the Downing Street parties and ought to have applied some sense to allow people to let out their frustration, regarding the murder of a woman by one of their own. It was a ridiculous, disastrous and entirely avoidable shitshow by the police.

Trust, I have never and will never vote Tory - I am a middle age bleeding heart Gen X'er and RN of 22 years who's personal politics have never been less relevant or important to either my peers or the wider community of this wonderful country. Things are as far from perfect as they have been in peacetime as far as I can see and unlike many in the UK I have been lucky to have lived a comfortable life with a rewarding career so - I understand those who will disagree with me. I am twice privileged - living both in a developed country as well as being extremely comfortable compared to many who struggle through no fault of their own. Regardless, while it is true that the PM must go, now is not the time for these antics. The behaviour in Parliament is pathetic all around as far as I am concerned and as the PM has made it clear that he will not give a straight answer to the people at the moment I just wish they would get on and govern. Politicians have always been hypocrites and while we need to hold them accountable before we turn into the US the house mas made it quite clear how keen they are to behave like rapid dogs so with all that is going on I just wish that someone of importance could rise above it. How can we sack the PM while all the potential competition is as badly behaved as he is? Those in glass houses and all that sorry for the rant I have couple of days off and I am stoned.
